Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has publicly addressed an alarming incident in which his family home was attacked by disgruntled supporters following a team defeat.
Mansion Targeted in Early Hours Attack
The coach's $1.3 million mansion in Moorestown, New Jersey was pelted with eggs in the early hours of Saturday morning, just hours after the Eagles' 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday. Shocking video shared online showed at least three individuals hurling eggs at the property from the road.
While initial reports suggested rocks had been thrown, local police later confirmed the projectiles were eggs. An investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible. It remains unclear whether Patullo or his family were inside the four-bedroom home, which the family has owned since 2020, at the time of the incident.
Coach Draws Line at Family Involvement
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Patullo acknowledged the passion of the Philadelphia fanbase but condemned the actions of a small, unruly faction. "I've been here for five years now and it's been awesome," he stated, highlighting the team's successes, including a Super Bowl victory.
"As coaches and players, we all know that part of our job is to handle criticism," Patullo continued. "It's perfectly acceptable to sit up here and talk about what's going on, how to fix it... But when it involves your family, obviously it crosses the line. So, that happened. At this point, we've just gotta move on. We're trying to win."
Offensive Struggles Fuel Fan Frustration
The attack comes amid growing scrutiny of the Eagles' offense this season. Despite inheriting a unit that won the Super Bowl in February and the team holding a strong 8-4 record atop the NFC East, performance has been inconsistent.
Patullo, promoted to offensive coordinator in the offseason, oversees a unit that is the highest-paid in the NFL but ranks poorly in key areas:
- 24th in total yards
- 23rd in passing
- 22nd in rushing
- 19th in scoring
Frustration appears to have boiled over after the Black Friday loss. However, head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed on Monday that, after evaluation, Patullo will retain playcalling duties. "We want to get this thing fixed more than anybody," Sirianni said.
The Eagles now prepare to face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football, looking to snap a two-game losing streak while still leading their division.
