Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has shared an emotional reaction after his eldest son, Isago Silva, signed his first professional contract with the Premier League club.
A Legacy Continues at Stamford Bridge
The 41-year-old Brazilian, who made 155 appearances for Chelsea between 2020 and 2024, is currently playing for Fluminense in his homeland. His contract there runs until June 2026, with no indication of imminent retirement. However, the family's connection with Chelsea is now being powerfully renewed through the next generation.
His 17-year-old son, Isago, has officially committed his future to the Blues by putting pen to paper on his inaugural professional deal. The young defender announced the milestone on his Instagram, posting: "Proud to sign my first pro deal with Chelsea. Hungry for more."

The announcement prompted a heartfelt response from the Silva family. Thiago Silva reshared the club's post on his own Instagram story, accompanying it with a series of emojis including hearts, praying hands, and teary-eyed faces. His wife, Belle, added her congratulations directly on Chelsea's post, writing: 'Congrats and good luck!' along with a blue heart and a goat emoji.

Isago Silva is already making waves within the Chelsea setup. His performances have been impressive enough to earn him a call-up to the England under-15s national team. Furthermore, his potential was recognised earlier this season when he was named in Chelsea's Champions League squad for their match against Ajax in October.
While Thiago pursues his career in Brazil, the rest of the family remains based in London. The veteran centre-back has previously spoken about this arrangement, referring to it as their 'mission'.
"I owe a lot of this to my family, because it's not easy being away," he confessed last summer. "My children had to return now, only my wife stayed. They have their mission at Chelsea, to get back to the season. But I know we're making the right choice, they'll follow their path and that will certainly strengthen me now. Even though I'm far away physically, my children are here with me in spirit."
