Tartan Army Sail Miami River, Warned About Sunburn

A video showing topless members of the Tartan Army sailing down a Miami river has gone viral, with Americans warning the Scots that they will 'cook' if they do not apply sunscreen. The footage captures three men, wearing only swimming shorts, standing on the bow of a small boat holding a large Scotland flag while bagpipes play and onlookers cheer.

Scots Arrive in Miami After Boston Send-Off

Tens of thousands of Scotland fans received a heroes' send-off in Boston after Friday's defeat to Morocco. Over the weekend, they began arriving in Miami ahead of Wednesday's World Cup match against Brazil. The Tartan Army is expected to take over the coastal city, and they have already left an impression on locals.

In the TikTok clip captioned 'the Scots are here', the three men hold beer cans aloft and cheer as they pass by. However, Americans noted their sunburned chests. One commenter wrote: 'OMG! I hope they have sunscreen.' Another said: 'They need this ASAP!' alongside a photo of sunscreen. A third warned: 'They're gonna fry,' while a fourth wrote: 'Florida sunburn is bad. They will turn tomato red.' A fifth added: 'I would've waved and reminded them to wear sunblock. SPF 1000 and a big size bottle of Aloe!' A sixth joked: 'No sunscreen, no party.'

Tartan Army Praised in Boston

The viral video comes after the President of the Boston Red Sox, Sam Kennedy, wrote a letter thanking the Tartan Army for their takeover of Fenway Park. Over 5,000 Scotland fans marched through Boston, kilted and playing bagpipes, before watching the Red Sox play the Texas Rangers on June 14. Kennedy said: 'What happened at Fenway Park on June 14th was something none of us will forget. We knew the Tartan Army was coming. We did not fully understand what that meant until we saw it... It was genuinely one of the most moving things we have witnessed at Fenway Park in a very long time.'

World Cup Clash with Brazil

All eyes are now on Wednesday's game against Brazil. If Scotland wins, they will secure a place in the last-32 of the expanded FIFA tournament.
