Man Utd Join Race to Sign £70m Croatia Star Martin Baturina
Man Utd Target Martin Baturina in £70m Deal

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Croatia international Martin Baturina, with the 23-year-old valued at around £70 million. The attacking midfielder impressed during the World Cup, scoring a stunning goal against England in Croatia's Group L opener.

Baturina's Rising Profile

Baturina, who emerged from Dinamo Zagreb's academy—the same as Luka Modric—joined Como in 2025 under Cesc Fabregas. His performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. Leeds United recently had a €50 million (£43m) offer rejected, while Bayern Munich have also made inquiries. According to Sky Sports Italia, both Manchester United and Aston Villa are now monitoring the player.

Como's Stance

Como are determined to keep Baturina this summer, but reports in Italy suggest an €80 million (£70m) bid could persuade them to sell. In his debut Serie A season, he scored eight goals and provided four assists, playing as an attacking midfielder, left winger, central midfielder, and even centre-forward.

United's Transfer Priorities

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their attacking options, particularly on the left wing and up front. West Ham's Crysencio Summerville has been identified as a target, especially with Marcus Rashford's future uncertain after Barcelona pulled out of a permanent deal.

Rashford, 27, reminded United of his quality with a goal off the bench against Croatia, prompting club legend Rio Ferdinand to urge the club to give him another chance. Meanwhile, United's midfield rebuild continues. Casemiro has left, and Manuel Ugarte's future is in doubt, leaving Kobbie Mainoo as the only recognised central midfielder.

Ederson is set to join from Atalanta next month, and talks are ongoing for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes. Other targets include Alex Scott, Adam Wharton, and Carlos Baleba, but Elliot Anderson appears out of reach as he favours Manchester City.
