Post Malone Delays Tour to Finish Double Album

Post Malone has announced a delay to the start of his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 with Jelly Roll, citing the need to complete his forthcoming double album before hitting the road. The 30-year-old singer, who closed out the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, California on April 26 with a raucous performance, shared a message on Instagram Stories late Friday night explaining his decision.

Why the Delay?

Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach, Malone realized that what he aims to achieve and what is feasible are not aligning. He stated, 'The truth is, I promised y'all beautiful people new music, and I don't have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain't ready for tour just yet, so I'm making the decision to push the tour back about three weeks to get this music done.'

The Rockstar hitmaker, who cracked open a beer during his Stagecoach set, apologized to fans affected by the cancellations, expressing regret for those planning to attend the postponed shows. He added, 'That being said, I'm so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y'all. That THAT being said, we been making some badass stuff for this double album… and I can't wait to perform for y'all again.'

Affected Dates and New Start

The tour was originally scheduled to begin on May 13 at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas. However, that date along with five others have been canceled: May 19 in Waco, Texas; May 23 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; May 26 in Birmingham, Alabama; May 29 in Tampa, Florida; and June 5 in Oxford, Mississippi. The tour will now commence on June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Eternal Buzz: A Double Album

Malone's upcoming project, titled The Eternal Buzz, has been teased as a colossal 40-song double album featuring two discs with 20 songs each. According to KISS Country 99.9, the album will lean more traditional country, incorporating more fiddle, pedal steel, and guitar solos. Malone hasn't released an album since 2024's F-1 Trillion, which was a massive commercial success. Industry insiders suggest that releasing The Eternal Buzz or at least a hit single could boost ticket sales for the remaining tour dates.

Jelly Roll's Other Plans

Jelly Roll, 41, who was set to join Malone on the tour, is also headlining his own intimate run, The Little Ass Shed Tour, an 11-date series in smaller outdoor venues starting May 28. In a YouTube video uploaded on April 22, Jelly Roll admitted to losing his way with his diet but vowed to get back on track. He had previously weighed over 500 pounds in 2023 but slimmed down to 265 pounds by last November. However, after indulging during the holidays and suffering a collarbone injury, he gained back 12 pounds, reaching 276.2 pounds. Now, the three-time Grammy winner aims to run the New York Marathon on November 1 and hopes to shed another 40-50 pounds. He also expressed a goal of posing topless for a magazine, saying, 'I know it's getting real silly now, but I just believe there's a story that a guy can go from 560 pounds to a shirt off picture, it's absurd.'
