SpudBros 'Underestimate' Hoppings Crowd, Sell Thousands of Jacket Potatoes
SpudBros Overwhelmed by Hoppings Demand

SpudBros have made a Newcastle admission after 'underestimating' The Hoppings crowd. The viral jacket potato stand had an incredibly busy first day at the fairground, selling thousands of potatoes.

A Warm Welcome in Newcastle

The Hoppings is open for business, and Newcastle knows it. As rides and attractions made their way to the fairground, a viral jacket potato stand also found a pitch on the Town Moor. SpudBros, with millions of followers across social media platforms, has grown their viral food stall from humble beginnings, selling to loyal followers and new customers alike. As they make their Hoppings debut, the brothers have definitely seen a warm welcome.

Underestimating the Demand

Posting to their social media yesterday, the SpudBros said that they 'completely underestimated' the turnout for their potatoes. As a result, they titled the post 'We're going to run out!' Jacob Nelson, one of the brothers behind the brand, said, 'Okay, Newcastle, we have completely underestimated how busy we are gonna be. It looks like we are gonna sell more than the 6,000 potatoes that we've got.' He added, 'Not to worry though, because we're going to have to go back to Preston and pick up some more spuds!' He concluded by saying, 'You guys in Newcastle, I feel like the more North we go, the more they love their spuds.'

Restocking and Loving the Vibes

In a post from later that night, SpudBros said they were 'loving the vibes and the people here! We can confirm Newcastle loves Greggs and spuds' and promised that 'another pallet of spud[s] coming…' This morning, for day two of the Hoppings, and the first weekend of the event too, the page posted 'Day 2…we've got enough spuds'. This will hopefully reassure fans that if they can't make it for the first few days of the Hoppings, they will still be guaranteed a taste of the SpudBros magic.

SpudBros Express in Newcastle

The SpudBros recently opened one of their 'Express' stores in Newcastle ahead of the Hoppings. Based just outside Cobalt Business Park, locals were eager to get their hands on a jacket potato from the viral brand. People started queuing from 4am outside the stall just for a chance of getting a spud with the signature tram sauce. This means that after the Hoppings, you'll still be able to find a SpudBros near you.
