Tesco's Festive Feast: Christmas Dinner for Six Under £10 in Price War
Tesco slashes Christmas dinner cost to under £10 for six

In a dramatic move to capture the crucial Christmas grocery spend, Tesco has ignited a festive price war by launching a complete Christmas dinner for six people for less than £10.

The Budget Festive Feast

Tesco's £9.55 deal, announced on Friday 19 December 2025, promises a traditional spread with turkey and all the essential trimmings. This aggressive pricing strategy comes hot on the heels of discount rival Aldi's own promotion of a festive meal for eight people for under £12. The head-to-head battle sees Tesco's offer work out at £1.59 per person, narrowly undercut by Aldi's equivalent cost of £1.50 per head.

Ashwin Prasad, Chief Executive of Tesco UK, stated the supermarket's commitment to value during the festive period. "Christmas is a time when value really matters," he said. "Being able to feed six people for under £10 with a Clubcard is something we know will make a real difference to families across the UK."

Clubcard Members Get the Deepest Cuts

The heart of Tesco's deal is a significant reduction on turkey. The retailer has halved the price of whole turkeys for its more than 24 million Clubcard members, bringing them down to £2.50 per kilo. This means a small whole turkey serving six costs just £7.50.

Further dramatic cuts are applied to festive vegetables and essentials for loyalty card holders:

  • Potatoes, carrots, and parsnips are slashed to just 15p per bag.
  • Sage and onion stuffing mix is available for 40p.
  • Gravy granules are priced at 65p.

Tesco claims its 2025 deal is 25p per person cheaper than its equivalent Clubcard offer in 2024 and a substantial 50p cheaper per person than in 2023.

Aldi Fires Back with 5p Veg

Not to be outdone, Aldi launched its Festive Super Six promotion in stores from 19 to 24 December. This offer includes a selection of vegetables for just 5p each, while stocks last. The range includes 2kg of white potatoes, 1kg of carrots, 500g of parsnips, red and white cabbages, 500g of Brussels sprouts, and swede.

The competing deals mark an all-out attempt by supermarkets to attract families for their main Christmas shop during the biggest shopping weekend of the year. The price war extends beyond the centrepiece, with both grocers slashing the cost of must-have festive vegetables to almost symbolic levels.

The Tesco Christmas dinner bundle is available in most large stores for Clubcard holders until Christmas Day. This intense competition highlights the fierce battle for consumer loyalty during the most financially pressurised shopping season of the year, with both giants determined to be seen as the destination for budget-friendly festive cheer.
