Wetherspoons January Sale: 99p Pints & Bargain Drinks Across 600 UK Pubs
Wetherspoons launches 99p pint sale across 600 UK pubs

As the festive glow fades and wallets feel the pinch, a major pub chain is offering a lifeline to socialisers. JD Wetherspoon has launched a nationwide January sale, with pints of beer available for just 99p at hundreds of its establishments.

What's on offer in the pub sale?

The headline offer is a pint of Worthington's beer for 99p, available at 600 participating Wetherspoons pubs across the country. The sale isn't limited to beer, however. Patrons can also purchase a 250ml glass of Coldwater Creek wine for £2.99, while measures of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky and Tanqueray gin are priced at £1.99 each.

For those abstaining from alcohol this month, the chain has curated a selection of low and no-alcohol options. These include Guinness 0.0, BrewDog Punk AF, Kopparberg Alcohol Free, and Gordon's 0.0 pink gin, all for £1.69 each. Even more budget-friendly are Beck's Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa, priced at just 99p.

Food deals and sale dates

The bargains extend to the food menu. Customers can get an 11-inch Margherita pizza or a crunchy chicken burger served with chips or a side salad for £4.99, which includes a soft drink. The price is £6.52 if paired with an alcoholic beverage. The chain is also introducing new gourmet jacket potatoes, including loaded and Mexican varieties.

The sale period runs from Friday 2 January until Thursday 15 January 2026, inclusive. For pubs in Scotland, the offers begin a day later, on Saturday 3 January. It is important to note that prices may vary at around 200 other Wetherspoons locations not included in the main promotion.

Founder's comments and responsible service

Wetherspoon founder and chairman, Tim Martin, framed the pub sale as a logical follow-on from post-Christmas retail events. "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs," he stated. He emphasised that the range aims to suit a wide variety of tastes, specifically highlighting the large selection of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks.

Martin added, "I believe that the January sale will prove popular with customers. As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly." The move offers a counterpoint to the popular Dry January trend, which Martin has previously referred to as a 'cult', providing a budget-conscious reason for patrons to visit the pub during the coldest month.
