Apple Fitness+ Gets Major 2026 Upgrade with New Workout Plans & Guest Stars
Apple Fitness+ 2026 Update: New Plans & Features

Apple has kicked off 2026 with a significant upgrade to its Fitness+ subscription service, introducing a suite of new features designed to help users shed festive weight and achieve their New Year's resolutions. The update, announced on 2nd January 2026, brings structured programmes, bonus content, and celebrity guest workouts to the platform.

Structured Programmes for Lasting Fitness Habits

The centrepiece of this refresh is a new collection of multi-week training plans. These are crafted to build motivation and fitness levels progressively over time. Apple has introduced three core programme types: Strength, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), and Yoga.

One standout plan is the "Back-to-Back Strength and HIIT" programme. It pairs these two demanding workout styles into 20-minute sessions available through the service. For those looking to cultivate consistency, the "Build a Yoga Habit in 4 Weeks" plan is tailored to help users integrate yoga into their routine more regularly.

Perhaps the most accessible new option is the "Make your Fitness Comeback" plan. This four-week programme is perfect for restarting a fitness journey, featuring three 10-minute workouts per week—one each of Strength, HIIT, and Yoga. Each week's sessions build upon the last to steadily guide users back to fitness.

Celebrity Workouts and Exclusive Music Content

Beyond the structured plans, Apple Fitness+ is enriching its library with high-profile guest content. The popular Time to Walk audio experience is adding new episodes featuring Spice Girl Mel B, actor Penn Badgley, and US actress Michelle Monaghan.

The service is also reviving its Artist Spotlight series, where entire workout playlists are dedicated to a single music artist. Soon, five new workouts will premiere featuring the hit tracks of Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter KAROL G.

Additional guest workouts are coming from fitness creator Allie Bennett and professional dancers Luke and Paul Harwerth, offering users fresh perspectives and routines.

Seamless Integration with Apple Ecosystem

All this new content remains viewable across the Apple device family, including iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The experience is further enhanced when used with an Apple Watch or the latest AirPods Pro.

These accessories work in tandem with Fitness+ to provide real-time biometric feedback, tracking heart rate and calculating calories burned during each session, creating a more immersive and data-driven workout.

The Apple Fitness+ service, which first launched in 2020, continues to be available for £9.99 per month or £79.99 for an annual subscription. This latest update represents a clear push from Apple to cement its service as a key tool for health-conscious consumers in the UK and beyond, especially during the prime resolution-setting period of early January.
