In a playful nod to a resurgence of vintage names, Royal Caribbean International has announced that young fans sharing their names with beloved Wiggles characters can cruise for free. The offer is valid on three exclusive sailings during the 2026-2027 season, marking the second year of the cruise line's partnership with the iconic Australian preschool entertainment group.
Eligibility and Offer Details
The unique promotion is open to children under six years old at the time of the selected sailing, who are named after popular Wiggles friends: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, or Shirley Shawn the Unicorn. There is a significant catch, however: the deal is exclusively available to residents of Australia and New Zealand.
The complimentary passage allows for one eligible child to sail for free when booked into a triple or quad stateroom on the designated Wiggles voyages. Royal Caribbean has stated that availability is limited, with a maximum of 50 cabins offered under this promotion until 28 January.
The 2026-2027 Wiggles Sailings Itinerary
Families have three distinct cruise options to choose from, each featuring performances and activities with current Wiggles members.
The first departure is a four-night cruise aboard Quantum of the Seas, sailing from Brisbane to Airlie Beach on 30 November 2026. This sailing features "Yellow Wiggle" Tsehay Hawkins, with fares starting from £372 per person.
Next, a four-night voyage on Anthem of the Seas will journey from Sydney to Hobart on 1 March 2027, hosted by "Blue Wiggle" Lucia Field. Prices for this cruise begin at £469 per person.
For those seeking a longer adventure, a seven-night South Pacific cruise departs Brisbane on 19 March 2027, also on Quantum of the Seas. This extended trip features both "Red Wiggle" Caterina Mete and "Yellow Wiggle" Evie Ferris, with prices starting from £622 per person.
Onboard Wiggly Fun and Cultural Influence
The themed sailings promise a host of exclusive activities designed for young fans and their families. The itinerary includes a vibrant sail away party with DJ Dorothy, along with photo sessions and meet-and-greet opportunities with The Wiggles and their Wiggly Friends.
Royal Caribbean cited research highlighting the enduring cultural impact of the group, which has been entertaining children since the 1990s. The data reveals that almost half of Australians know a child named Dorothy, Henry, or Shirley, and over a third of parents are considering such vintage names for their children in 2026.
Kathryn Lock, senior marketing director for Australia and New Zealand at Royal Caribbean, commented on the trend-driven promotion. "With the rise of vintage names like Dorothy, Henry and Shirley, we saw a playful opportunity to celebrate this trend while offering families a unique chance to connect with their favourite Wiggles and Wiggly characters," she said.
Lock added, "In summer 2026/2027, the three exclusive sailings will mark the second year of this exciting partnership, bringing more unforgettable adventures for all ages. We can’t wait to welcome families onboard for the ultimate wiggly adventure."
