Manchester Airport Terminal Shift: Emirates & easyJet Move This Week
Manchester Airport terminal changes for Emirates & easyJet

Manchester Airport is implementing significant changes to its operations this week as two major airlines complete their transition to the newly upgraded Terminal 2.

Major Terminal Transition Underway

From November 18th and 19th, Emirates and easyJet will join numerous other carriers in operating from Manchester Airport's Terminal 2, marking a crucial milestone in the airport's £1.3 billion transformation programme. This move leaves Ryanair as the only airline not operating from the upgraded facility.

The airport confirmed that Emirates departures will switch from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 on November 18, while easyJet will make the same move just one day later on November 19.

Airlines Already Operating from Terminal 2

Several prominent airlines have already completed their transition to the new terminal ahead of this week's changes. The list includes:

  • Luxair
  • Finnair
  • British Airways
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Loganair

In a social media update published on November 14th, Manchester Airport reminded passengers: "From 19th November, all airlines, except Ryanair, will operate from Terminal 2."

Ongoing Developments and Passenger Guidance

The transformation doesn't stop with this week's airline moves. Additional developments at Terminal 2 will continue over the coming months, including the opening of the Great Northern Market, the airport's first Wetherspoons pub, and new retail outlets including Fever Tree.

A new pier will also open, allowing more flights to depart from the terminal and significantly increasing capacity.

Manchester Airport has provided clear guidance for passengers affected by the changes:

Parking arrangements: If you've booked parking at Terminal 1 or 3 but your flight has moved to Terminal 2, the airport will transfer your reservation to the nearest parking area at no extra cost - provided you booked directly through the official Manchester Airport website.

Lounge access: Passengers with lounge bookings in Terminal 1 or 3 who are now flying from Terminal 2 will need to cancel their current booking and rebook in Terminal 2, subject to availability. Full refunds are available if no Terminal 2 lounge spaces are free.

The airport emphasises that all airlines will contact passengers directly to confirm terminal details, and staff will be available throughout the transition period to assist with the new arrangements.
