Yujun Ren, a 32-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been formally charged with criminal homicide, possession of an instrument of crime, and stalking in connection with the death of Yuan Yuan Lu. Prosecutors assert that Ren tracked down Lu in Levittown during the early hours of Sunday morning. He allegedly shot her while she was seated in her car. Later that same afternoon, Ren turned himself in to the Middletown Township police, claiming the shooting was an accident.

Court documents reveal that just one day before the shooting, Lu had visited the Philadelphia Police Department to file a report. She accused Ren of sexually assaulting her at his home on South Orianna Street in the Pennsport area.
