Fourteen train passengers received medical treatment on Thursday morning after a chemical smell was reported on an Elizabeth line platform at Farringdon station in central London. The station was evacuated and temporarily closed as emergency services, including the London Fire Brigade and British Transport Police, responded to the incident.

Firefighters conducted a thorough sweep of the area but detected no elevated readings of any chemical substances. Of the fourteen individuals treated at the scene, two were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service as a precautionary measure.

The incident, initially treated as a suspected gas leak, was declared safe by 11:35 am. The station has since reopened to the public. Authorities have assured that there is no ongoing risk to passengers or staff.
