Below Deck Jeweler Pulls Gun in Ferrari Road Rage

A celebrity jeweler known for his appearance on the reality show Below Deck Mediterranean has been accused of brandishing a firearm during a dispute over a blocked Ferrari in Florida. Leon Glore, also known as Leo, was arrested last Friday and charged with aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm, according to Miami-Dade police.

The incident occurred on March 11 at the Paramount Miami Worldcenter, a luxury condominium complex. Glore, 35, was driving his white Ferrari when he encountered a driver struggling to enter a parking garage. The driver was unable to pass through the gate due to a malfunction and was on the phone with the building's concierge, as detailed in an arrest report obtained by WPLG Local 10.

Glore began honking his horn incessantly and shouting obscenities at the driver. The situation escalated when Glore exited his vehicle and brandished a handgun, allegedly telling the driver, “Give me a reason.” Police responded to the scene but did not arrest Glore at the time. However, after a review of security footage, he was taken into custody more than a month later.

Legal Defense

Glore's attorney, Chad Piotrowski, has entered a written not guilty plea and intends to fight the charges. Piotrowski stated that Glore was initially released after police reviewed the building's security footage, which he claims supports their case. “Based on the facts and the video, we will be asking the Court to dismiss the charges pursuant to Florida’s Stand Your Ground law,” Piotrowski told WPLG Local 10.

Florida's Stand Your Ground law, enacted in 2005, permits individuals to use deadly force if they reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm. The law has been controversial and frequently invoked in self-defense claims.

Background

Glore was featured in season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean in 2020. According to a 2021 profile by The Village Voice, he began his jewelry career at age 19 and has worked with celebrities such as Scott Disick, 50 Cent, and Meek Mill.

After posting a $5,500 bond, Glore was released from jail over the weekend. He has since resumed posting on social media, including an Instagram story showing himself driving a Ferrari and another in workout attire.

The Independent has reached out to Glore's attorney for additional comment.
