The family of a young British girl have issued a heartfelt plea for urgent assistance after she was tragically swept out to sea while sitting on coastal rocks with relatives in Morocco.
Desperate Search for Inaayah Makda
Inaayah Makda, a seven-year-old child from Blackburn in Lancashire, went missing on January 28 during a family outing near the coast close to Casablanca. The incident occurred as she and several family members were seated on rocks by the shoreline, when a sudden wave pulled them into the water.
Family Criticises Inadequate Response
While other family members managed to scramble back to safety, young Inaayah was carried away by the current and has not been seen since. Her distraught relatives have strongly criticised local Moroccan authorities, accusing them of failing to mount a sufficient search operation to locate the missing girl.
A family member based in the United Kingdom conveyed their anguish to the Lancashire Telegraph, stating: 'We are all really worried. You can understand this is really distressing for everyone.'
The relative further expressed frustration with the lack of official support, adding: 'We have reached out for help, but the support has not been forthcoming. The support we have got from the local authorities in Morocco can only be described as inhumane.'
Family-Led Search Efforts
In the absence of robust official action, family members in Morocco have taken matters into their own hands, conducting painstaking searches along the beach. They feel completely disregarded by local officials, who they believe have not prioritised the search for the British child.
The UK-based family member made a direct appeal to the public: 'If anyone knows any locals who can offer support, please tell them to come forth and help, in whatever way they can.'
