Prosecutors allege that singer D4vd, legally named David Burke, fatally stabbed 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez multiple times before dismembering her body with chainsaws in his garage. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office claims Burke killed Rivas Hernandez after she threatened to expose their sexual relationship, which began when she was 13 and he was 18.
Evidence Presented
Evidence outlined in a court filing includes text messages between Burke and Rivas Hernandez, child sexual abuse images on his phone, and the purchase of chainsaws used to dismember her body. Rivas Hernandez's body was found decomposing in a Tesla towed from the Hollywood Hills in September of last year, with parts of her arms and legs missing.
Legal Proceedings
Burke has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, and mutilating a dead body. A preliminary evidentiary hearing is scheduled for May 26.
