Houston Police Intensify Hunt for Suspect in Pregnant Woman's Murder
A manhunt is underway in Houston for a suspect accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and leaving her remains in a local park. Kevin Faux, aged 24, faces capital murder charges in connection with the death of Ashanti Allen, who was 23 years old and eight months pregnant with his child at the time of her disappearance.
Discovery of Remains and Escalated Charges
Ashanti Allen was reported missing on April 10, 2026, after she was last seen leaving her Houston residence. Six days later, on April 16, search teams from the Houston Police Department and Texas EquuSearch located her body near Chimney Rock Road in southwest Houston. The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed by officials.
Initially charged with murder, prosecutors have now upgraded the case against Faux to capital murder, reflecting the severity of the allegations. As of the latest reports, he remains at large, prompting an urgent appeal from law enforcement for information on his whereabouts.
Suspect's Criminal History Revealed
Court records indicate that Kevin Faux has a documented history of prior assault charges. In 2019, he was charged with aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon. More recently, in 2025, he faced charges for assault on a family member, highlighting a pattern of violent behavior that authorities are now investigating in relation to this case.
Family's Heartbreaking Response
Ashanti Allen's father, Edward Allen, spoke to local media, describing his daughter as an introverted and exceptionally sweet individual. He expressed profound grief, stating, "I can't even tell you how I feel. My body is just completely numb. I don't think I've processed the fact that my daughter is gone. It's going to hit me hard because I love my baby girl—she was my only girl, and she was carrying my only grandson."
The emotional toll on the family underscores the tragic nature of this incident, as they grapple with the loss of both Ashanti and her unborn child.
