A judge in Indiana and his wife are recovering after being shot at their family home in what police describe as a targeted ambush.
Violent Ambush at Family Home
Judge Steven Meyer and his wife, Kimberly, were attacked at their residence in Lafayette on Sunday afternoon. The assailant reportedly approached the couple's home under the pretence of having found their lost dog. When the couple responded, the unidentified attacker opened fire through a door before fleeing the scene.
Judge Meyer sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, while his wife Kimberly was shot in the hip. Authorities have confirmed that both victims are now in a stable condition following medical treatment.
Multi-Agency Manhunt Underway
A desperate and wide-ranging investigation has been launched to identify and locate the shooter. The probe is a collaborative effort, involving Indiana State Police, the local Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
