Within mere seconds of the crash, the offender—who was wearing a distinctive bright blue Nike tracksuit—bolted from his damaged vehicle and scrambled over a nearby wall in his futile bid to escape justice. Inside, Whitehead was found uncomfortably concealed, with his head awkwardly twisted to the side to fit within the confined space.
