Bolton Crash Survivor's Haunting Memory: 'I Remember Every Second'
Newlyweds' life changed by Bolton crash that killed four

A newlywed couple from Bolton are confronting devastating, life-altering injuries after surviving a catastrophic collision that claimed the lives of four people.

A Night of Celebration Turns to Tragedy

Georgina Daniels, 28, and her husband Tom, 29, had been married for just seven months when their lives were shattered in the early hours of Saturday, January 11, 2026. The couple were travelling in a taxi with two friends when the horrific incident occurred.

A red Seat Leon, carrying several teenagers, collided head-on with the Citroen C4 Picasso taxi they were in. The crash prompted a major emergency services response, with police, firefighters and paramedics rushing to the scene. A cordon was established and the road was closed for several hours.

The Chilling Disparity in Memory

In the aftermath, the couple have been left with a starkly different recollection of the traumatic event. Georgina has been haunted by vividly clear memories, while Tom's are fragmented.

"Tom remembers bits of it, a lot of it he doesn't remember. For some reason, I remember every single second of it," Georgina told the Manchester Evening News. "I remember it as if it was 10 minutes ago. What I'll say is that it was quite a long event, we didn't get into ambulances quickly."

She described the scene as one of pure devastation, expressing shock that anyone survived. "I can't fathom how we're all still alive – it should have taken our lives. I have no idea how we're all here after seeing what happened to everyone and the state we are all in. The biggest shock of all is that we are all still here."

Life Changed in an Instant

The physical toll on the couple has been immense. Between them, they have already undergone four surgeries. Their injuries are so severe that they are currently forced to recover in separate hospital rooms, unable to comfort each other in person.

"The pain we've been in itself has been relentless, just unbearable," Georgina said. "Our lives will never be the same again." She added that the four survivors are struggling to process that the tragic news reports they read are about their own experience.

The couple's focus is now on an arduous recovery, taking each hour as it comes. "We have no expectations, we are just living hour by hour. We are trying to be positive and trying to get back to how we were... That's the only thing we can look forward to," she said.

The Fatalities of the Bolton Collision

The crash resulted in four tragic fatalities. The three teenagers in the Seat Leon were identified as:

  • Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18
  • Farhan Patel, 18
  • Mohammed Danyaal, 19

A fourth victim was the taxi driver, Masrob Ali, 54. An 18-year-old male passenger in the Seat Leon was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

A GoFundMe page has been established to support Georgina and Tom Daniels with the mounting costs of their recovery and rehabilitation.
