Family Tributes and Police Appeal

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Atherton described the incident as 'an incredibly tragic incident where a woman has sadly lost her life.' He extended the force's condolences, stating, 'Our thoughts remain firmly with Lisa's loved ones at this time. We will continue to support them as they try to navigate a life without Lisa.'

DCI Atherton also issued a public appeal, noting that with legal proceedings now active, 'we would ask that the public avoid speculation, both online and in the community, and respect the ongoing legal process.'

The incident has devastated Ms Denton's family. Her sister, Gillian, took to social media early on Sunday, posting a heartfelt plea for information. She wrote that her sister had been 'attacked and punched in the face at Charlie's bar north shields' between 9.30pm and midnight on Saturday, and was 'in intensive care fighting for her life.'

Later on Sunday, Gillian's fiancé, Dean, confirmed the tragic outcome in a separate social media post. He shared that the family was 'devastated to share that our Lisa sadly passed away from the injuries she sustained in a horrific attack at Charlies North Shield.' He described Lisa as 'deeply loved' and expressed that her loss had 'left a hole in our hearts that cannot be put into words.' The family also thanked the community for the love and support received during this difficult time.
