Police Response and Ongoing Investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather, from the Met's Flying Squad, commented on the case, stating: 'Across the Met we are working hard to tackle retail crime, including robbery and shoplifting, as we know the significant impact these incidents have on shop workers and communities. We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident over the past few months and have now charged three people.' The police's efforts highlight a broader crackdown on retail crime in the area, with this incident serving as a focal point due to its violent and public nature.
