Adam Woodyatt Wins £33k Tax Victory After Closing Firm

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has clinched a significant financial victory in his prolonged dispute with the tax authorities, following the closure of his personal management company. The actor, aged 57, originally established XL Management with his former spouse Beverley Sharp in 2012, but recent filings reveal the company has received a substantial £33,000 windfall as part of the liquidation process.

Tax Dispute Resolution and Financial Outcome

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) had previously asserted that Woodyatt owed £139,000 in Corporation Tax, a claim vigorously contested by his accounting team. According to a report submitted to Companies House, the actor ultimately paid £99,518 in tax, leading to a notable resolution.

A statement within the liquidation report clarified: 'On 16 February 2026, HMRC confirmed that their claim has been offset and a repayment of £30,403.38 plus interest is to be repaid.' The statement further added: 'HMRC also confirmed that following the repayment they have no further claim and the case can be closed.'

Company Liquidation and Asset Distribution

Documents obtained by The Sun indicate that XL Management held over £500,000 in cash when liquidators were appointed. Following the settlement, Adam Woodyatt and his ex-wife Beverley Sharp are set to share a remaining balance of £413,366. The couple, who separated in 2019 and finalised their divorce in 2022 after 22 years of marriage, had jointly operated the management firm.

Beverley Sharp previously managed Woodyatt's career, negotiating his lucrative EastEnders contracts and pantomime engagements. However, post-separation, Woodyatt opted to dissolve XL Management, which had offered a 'personal management service' and maintained a minimal online presence for actor submissions.

Divorce Settlement and Personal Dynamics

The star's divorce from Beverley was concluded three years ago, amidst reports of contentious negotiations. Sources close to Beverley described her as 'delighted' with the settlement, following claims that the breakup turned 'toxic' over perceived unfair offers.

A source disclosed to The Sun: 'As well as being his wife, Bev was also his manager for about a dozen years and she did so much for his career. She rejected some of the settlement offers she was sent during the process and now she's glad she held her ground — she is delighted with the settlement.'

The insider added: 'She still has no idea why he left her but that's all in the past. She's very upbeat and sees it as a new chapter. I've no doubt Bev will find someone new soon. She's in a good place.'

Financial Strains and Reality TV Deal

Reports surfaced that Beverley was 'furious' when Woodyatt signed a six-figure deal to appear on I'm A Celebrity in 2021, allegedly worth £250,000, while she faced financial difficulties. The Sun claimed she struggled to make ends meet, with images showing her purchasing reduced-price food. However, it was noted that Woodyatt provided interim maintenance payments to support her during the divorce proceedings.

The former couple share two children: Jessica, aged 33, and Samuel, aged 28. With the tax case now closed and the company liquidated, both parties appear to be moving forward from this chapter of their lives.
