Ant and Dec have shared their perspective on the chaotic I'm A Celebrity live final, revealing what David Haye told them in the car park after the show. The final erupted into controversy on Friday night as Jimmy Bullard and David Haye turned on winner Adam Thomas, claiming he did not deserve to win and urging the hosts to show footage of his alleged outburst.
Ant and Dec Break Their Silence
Speaking on their podcast Hangin' Out, Ant and Dec addressed the fallout. Ant explained that he left the studio separately and encountered David Haye and Jimmy Bullard in the car park. "I saw two people standing in the car park. David Haye and Jimmy Bullard. And I thought 'Oh, God, how's your luck!?'" Ant recalled. He approached Haye, who responded enthusiastically: "How brilliant was that? Wasn't that great?" Ant admitted it was certainly dramatic but not great, though they shared a laugh.
Ant then shook hands with Jimmy Bullard, who simply said "yeah, yeah cheers, cheers, cheers." Ant emphasised there was no confrontation, contradicting reports of a tense showdown. "He wasn't shouting at me, I wasn't shouting at him. I wasn't flanked by two security guards as it said in the paper," he added.
David Haye's Boxer Mentality
Dec also revealed his exchange with Haye, who said: "What about that then? Hope you get some good ratings for that one." Ant laughed, noting Haye's boxing background: "See, he doesn't care. That's what he does. He's a boxer. That's his stock in trade." Dec agreed, explaining that such tactics are typical for selling pay-per-view events, making it feel like a sporting moment.
Adam Thomas Speaks Out
On Wednesday, Adam Thomas voiced his regret, saying he wouldn't have participated for £10 million if he had known the outcome. He felt exploited during the live show and said the experience tarnished the series for him and his family. Adam wished producers had shown the full footage of his argument with Jimmy, admitting he used strong language but insisted the context was missing. "Granted they never showed the full clip of what happened between me and Jimmy because I was f***ing saying the c word a lot and the f bomb. That's the only thing that I'll hold my hands up and say that happened, like, I wish they did show it," he said on his brothers' podcast.
The final generated over 1,000 Ofcom complaints, with viewers divided over the unfolding drama. Ant and Dec's podcast revelations aim to set the record straight, confirming that despite the on-air chaos, there was no bad blood behind the scenes.
