Arnold Schwarzenegger and Heather Milligan proved this week that their ultra-private romance of more than a decade is still going strong. The couple, who have kept their relationship largely out of the public eye, were spotted exuding a blissful glow as they stepped out to dinner at Nobu Malibu, a favorite hotspot of the Kardashians.
Public Appearance After a Year
Their last public sighting was in April 2025, when they were glimpsed stepping out to dinner at the Santa Monica celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi with US diplomat Edward Djerejian, who has served as an ambassador to both Syria and Israel, via Hola!. This week, however, the couple appeared relaxed and happy together.
Outfit Details
Schwarzenegger, 78, wore a black blazer over a matching t-shirt and blue jeans, while Milligan, 51, was ready for summer in a stylish white ensemble. Letting her blonde hair cascade freely over her shoulders, she accessorized with dark sunglasses despite the night having fallen. Her snappy coat, simple top, and pristine white trousers emphasized her athletically slender physique.
How They Met
Milligan, a physical therapist, first became romantically involved with the Terminator icon in 2012. They met after Schwarzenegger had shoulder surgery and availed himself of Milligan's professional services on a recommendation from Sylvester Stallone. Stallone told him: "There's only one, it's Heather - any athlete, I always send them to her, because she's the only one that really knows what they're talking about."
Schwarzenegger recalled: "So I went to her, and then after my therapy was finished, after I was finished with the movie, I called her back and took her out for lunch to say thank you. And then one thing led to the next," per People.
Relationship Background
Milligan struck up her relationship with Schwarzenegger the year after the collapse of his 25-year marriage to John F. Kennedy's niece Maria Shriver. Shriver left Schwarzenegger in the wake of the scandal that engulfed the family when it emerged he had fathered a son with their housekeeper Mildred Baena. That son, Joseph Baena, is now 28 and has followed in Schwarzenegger's footsteps to become a bodybuilder under the mentorship of his proud father.
Schwarzenegger's Admiration for Milligan
Schwarzenegger remarked in 2023 that he paid visits to Milligan's Los Angeles clinic Elite OrthoSport, where her patients include sportsmen from the NFL, the NBA, and WWE. "I schmooze with them while they're getting therapy, because I admire them, they're great athletes. Even though a lot of them make me feel like a little chicken," he said.
Schwarzenegger raved that their relationship was "fantastic," noting she "grew up tough" and gushing: "We have so many things in common. I think the world of her. I love that she's into working. She's clearly independent. She just is driven as hell." He also expressed admiration for her role as the "driving force" of her family, caring for her cancer-stricken parents and for her ailing grandmother in Nebraska. "Every night, she's with her grandmother on the phone for at least a half an hour. I mean, that's when you get to know a person, the heart they have," he said.
