Sir David Beckham has opened up about the secret to his enduring 27-year marriage with Victoria Beckham, emphasising that making time for each other and prioritising family are key. The couple, who married in 1999, have four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
In an interview with Variety, the former England football captain expressed his continued admiration for the Spice Girls, the girl group that launched his wife's career. He revealed that his favourite Spice Girls song is 'Say You’ll Be There', as it was the track Victoria was performing when he first saw her and decided he would marry her.
David also shared his hope for a Spice Girls reunion, stating: 'I’m always hoping for the girls to get back together and perform at some point.' He noted that despite their individual busy schedules, the group retains a massive global following.
Regarding recent family headlines, including eldest son Brooklyn's public statement about distancing himself from the family, Victoria told The Wall Street Journal: 'We love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.' David declined to discuss the matter, calling it private.
Reflecting on his marriage, David said: 'We’ve been married for 27 years this July. We’ve been together for 29 years. We’ve got four incredible kids. We’ve got businesses that we work hard on. But we always make time for each other, and we always have.' He added that their priority remains their family, which he believes is the foundation of their lasting partnership.
