Ben Affleck Enjoys Father-Son Outing with Youngest Child Samuel
Hollywood star Ben Affleck was photographed spending quality time with his son Samuel following the teenager's basketball game on Thursday. The 53-year-old actor demonstrated his devoted parenting as he walked alongside his 14-year-old son to their vehicle after attending the sporting event.
Casual Style and Family Dynamics
For their outing, Affleck opted for business casual attire, wearing a blue button-down shirt paired with khaki pants and reflective aviator sunglasses. Samuel represents the youngest of three children Affleck shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, with whom he was married from 2005 to 2018. Their family also includes daughter Violet, 20, and son Fin, 17.
This public appearance marks Affleck's first sighting since his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez made recent comments about their divorce. Earlier this month, Lopez opened up about her new chapter as a single woman during an interview with Juju Chang on Nightline.
Lopez's Perspective on Single Life
When asked if she was actively dating, the 56-year-old entertainer responded emphatically: 'No! No I'm not! God forbid, I don't want to ruin anything. It's so nice right now. I'm so happy. It's the best. I just feel really good right now.'
Lopez further admitted that being single 'was a scary thing for me when I was younger' and that she had always been 'really afraid to be alone.' The couple's marriage, which began in 2022 after rekindling their romance during the COVID-19 pandemic, ended in divorce in 2024, with finalization occurring in January 2025.
Co-Parenting and Professional Endeavors
Since the divorce, Affleck has maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship with Garner, meeting with her periodically to coordinate their children's care. The actor has also encountered Lopez at various school events and red carpet occasions involving their respective children.
Professionally, Affleck remains actively engaged with his independent studio Artists Equity, which he operates alongside longtime friend and business partner Matt Damon. On the same day as his outing with Samuel, the Oscar-winning collaborators announced their Writers' Room program, an initiative designed to develop original screenplays.
The program has already yielded four completed scripts with four additional projects in progress, following two successful pilot rounds. Prior to this development initiative, Affleck and Damon revealed that Netflix had acquired InterPositive, an AI company they had quietly built to provide filmmaker-focused tools.
Affleck's commitment to both his family responsibilities and professional projects demonstrates his balanced approach to life following his high-profile divorce, as he continues to navigate Hollywood while prioritizing his role as a father to his three children.
