The 38-year-old star made the heartfelt comments during an interview promoting her haircare brand, Blake Brown Beauty.
A Partnership Built on Friendship
Speaking with Jenny B. Fine for WWD's The Beauty of Tomorrow podcast, Lively was effusive in her praise for Reynolds, 49. When asked if she discusses her business ventures with him, she confirmed they 'talk shop all the time'. She elaborated, explaining that their deep friendship forms the foundation of their collaboration. 'We really are partners in everything just because we’re best friends,' she stated.
Lively provided everyday examples of their dynamic, noting their shared curiosity extends to the most mundane details. 'We talk shop about, like, if I make the coffee I’m like, "What did you like about that? What were the details?" We’re very curious people,' she explained. She described how they both become passionately absorbed in creative projects, whether related to work or their family life, which they are 'eternally trying to figure out how to do better'.
Reynolds as Her Ultimate Tester
The Gossip Girl alum revealed that Reynolds plays a hands-on role in her beauty empire, serving as her primary product tester. 'He’s been my male tester for all of my fragrances, my formulas, my everything. He’s always stealing them from me,' Lively shared. She emphasised his irreplaceable support, stating, 'So down to literally being my test strands of hair, to being somebody who I rely on for every facet of the business and my life. Nothing I do is without him.'
Lively further stressed that the influence of her family, including Reynolds and their four children, is woven into all her professional endeavours. 'My family is all over everything I do, across any of my brands or any film I'm in. Everything I do, I can see them all over it,' she said, acknowledging that this personal imprint often remains unseen by the public.

Lively's public celebration of her partnership with Reynolds arrives amidst widespread speculation about a rift with her once-close friend, global pop star Taylor Swift, 36. The two were last photographed together in October 2024.
The reported strain appears linked to Lively's ongoing legal battle. In December 2024, the actress filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and emotional distress. As part of the legal proceedings, Baldoni's team subpoenaed communications between Lively and Swift.
Court filings revealed text messages where Lively seemingly referred to herself as 'Khaleesi' from Game of Thrones and to Swift as one of her 'dragons'. The documents also claimed Swift was present at a meeting at Lively's New York penthouse about script changes, though sources close to Swift insisted she had no prior knowledge and felt 'exploited' upon arriving. Swift is the godmother to Lively's three eldest daughters.
Lively and Reynolds, who married in 2012, are parents to daughters James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6, and a son, Olin, 2. The actress's trial against Baldoni has been postponed to May.
