Blossoms Surprise Manchester with Pop-Up Gig on Truck Outside 42s
Blossoms Stun Fans with Pop-Up Gig on Truck Outside 42s

Stockport band Blossoms wowed fans across Manchester last night as they appeared for two surprise pop-up gigs, including a set on a truck outside 42s nightclub on Deansgate.

Wedding Crashers Turned Street Performers

The five-piece 'crashed' the wedding of bride and groom Harri and Gareth at Victoria Baths on Saturday evening (June 20), where they played three of their much-loved tracks: Joke About Divorce, There’s a Reason Why, and Charlemagne.

If that wasn't enough, the band then paid a visit to 42s nightclub on Bootle Street. Clips circulating online show fans swarming a van-turned-makeshift stage outside the Deansgate club. Huge crowds formed on Deansgate, with the group appearing to have 'shut down' the street by their final song, Charlemagne, as revellers gathered in large numbers.

Fan Reactions

One fan wrote on a TikTok comment: "The most random thing that has ever happened to me walking down Deansgate tonight." Another added: "If you were there, I'm jealous." The band also posted a message to 42s after the gig on Instagram.

The surprise performances come after Blossoms announced details of their upcoming UK arena headline tour this week, which will include a big show in Manchester.

Band Background and Upcoming Album

Led by frontman Tom Ogden, Blossoms first broke out onto the scene in 2014 with their debut self-titled album hitting the top of the charts upon its release two years later. They have released five studio albums to date, four of which reached number one. Their sixth record, Songs From The Wedding Cake, is set to be released in October. The latest single, Meet Me In Love, stars Love Island host Maya Jama and It’s A Sin actor Callum Scott-Howells.

The upcoming album's title nods to the band’s roots, taking its name from the local nickname for Stockport’s iconic Victorian town hall, where Tom himself got married.

Arena Tour Dates

To coincide with the release of the upcoming album, the band will hit the road for five dates across the UK in November and December for what has been hailed as their biggest arena headline tour. Across all tour dates, they will be joined by special guests The Royston Club.

The tour kicks off on November 26 at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, followed by a show at London’s Alexandra Palace on November 27. They will also play Co-op Live for a homecoming Manchester gig on Saturday, November 28. After Manchester, the band will play shows in Birmingham and Glasgow, with the tour wrapping up on December 5.
