In an extraordinary online statement posted on Monday night, the 26-year-old eldest son of the Beckhams accused his mother of cancelling plans to design Nicola Peltz's wedding gown at the 'eleventh hour' ahead of their April 2022 nuptials. Brooklyn asserted this last-minute move forced his then-fiancée to urgently find a replacement dress.
This recollection, however, starkly differs from the narrative provided by Nicola's high-profile stylist, Leslie Fremar, at the time of the wedding. Fremar, whose clients include A-listers like Charlize Theron, told Vogue that the stunning couture Valentino gown worn by the 31-year-old actress was a year in the making.
Fremar detailed an extensive process that involved two trips to Valentino's Rome headquarters with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, followed by two fittings in the US. Head seamstresses even travelled to Miami to ensure a perfect fit. 'It was the ultimate couture experience,' Fremar said, describing the magnificent simplicity of the design, which led them to eliminate planned embroidery.
