Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Hold Hands at Malibu Birthday Dinner
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Hold Hands in Malibu

Cindy Crawford was seen sweetly holding her husband Rande Gerber's hand in Malibu on Monday evening. The lovebirds were leaving a dinner at Lucky's steakhouse to celebrate his 64th birthday.

Also in the party was former professional tennis player John McEnroe and several female friends who were seen saying goodbye to each other by the valet stand.

Crawford, 60, and Gerber wore matching outfits as they both had on dark tops and blue jeans with deep tans from their recent vacation in Mexico with daughter Kaia Gerber.

The supermodel and the Casamigos co-founder have been together since 1995 after she split from Hollywood movie star husband Richard Gere. They wed during a small ceremony on the beach in May 1998.

Crawford looked slender as she placed a black leather jacket on her shoulders while adding strappy black high heels. The Vogue cover model wore her dark hair down in soft waves as she had light makeup on. She was bedecked in gold jewelry with a chain necklace, bracelet and wedding rings from Gerber.

Gerber, who looked youthful in black sneakers, was seen carrying a blue polka-dotted gift bag. There was no sign of Crawford and Gerber's children Kaia and Presley.

Lucky's Malibu is a classic American steakhouse located in the Malibu Country Mart. They serve prime steaks and fresh seafood with premium cocktails in an upscale setting with patio seating available.

This sighting comes after Kaia said she found her mom's naked photo shoots empowering. The 24-year-old model-and-actress grew up in a home where the supermodel's nude portraits were on display but she never found the pictures 'vulgar' and feels they helped teach her not to be ashamed of her body.

Kaia told Harper's Bazaar magazine: 'They were, to me, artistic. It wasn't vulgar; it wasn't objectification. [It was a] gift to grow up in a house that was without shame for the female body.'

Kaia began following in Cindy's footsteps as a teenager, and while the beauty never gave advice without being asked, she wasn't afraid to be brutally honest with her daughter when she did seek out her mom's opinion. Kaia said: 'She doesn't give out advice unless you ask. But if you ask, get ready, because she'll be very honest in ways that, sometimes, it's hard to hear. She's usually right, which is infuriating, but she's also very willing to let me make a mistake that she made 30 years ago.'

Kaia - who was homeschooled from the age of 15 to accommodate her modelling career - was just 10 when she was chosen to appear in Versace's first childrenswear campaign and she recalled her confused feelings at the time. She said: 'I had all these adults, not only my parents, looking at me and being like, 'What should we all do now?' I couldn't decide I wasn't in the mood that day. I was still so young. I was masking as an adult. Now that I'm more secure in my adulthood, I'm willing to show up messy and be kind of childish about certain things.'

The Palm Royale actress' runway career soon took off and she is happy to take on whatever character is necessary for her catwalk campaigns. She said: 'I'm quite happy to be a vessel. It's not lost on me that part of my job is just being what people want me to be and being a canvas or mirror for people to reflect their own ideas onto.'

But Kaia finds balance with acting, particularly working in theatre. She explained: 'I love theatre because it is immortalized in people's memories but not immortalized in … media. So much of what I've done—every photo—is immortalized on the internet. It gets taken from me. The wonderful thing about theatre is kind of how I feel about my childhood. I had my experience, and the people watching had their experience. I can't go back and watch from the audience. I can only experience it from where I stood.'
