Davina McCall Warned by Husband After Calling Another Man Gorgeous

Television presenter Davina McCall found herself receiving a gentle but firm warning from her new husband, celebrity hairstylist Michael Douglas, during a recent episode of their joint podcast. The light-hearted moment occurred when McCall enthusiastically described businesswoman Jo Malone's husband, Gary Willcox, as "an absolutely gorgeous man."

A Playful Exchange on 'Making the Cut' Podcast

The amusing interaction unfolded on Davina and Michael's popular podcast, 'Making the Cut,' where the couple regularly discusses their lives and various topics. McCall had been expressing her newfound admiration for Jo Malone's brand, Jo Love, describing the founder as "a brilliant founder and a visionary" and declaring herself "obsessed" with the products.

Her praise extended to Malone's personal life, leading her to comment on Gary Willcox's appearance. Michael Douglas immediately responded with a single, pointed word: "Steady." McCall quickly clarified: "Not that gorgeous. Not as gorgeous as you, my husband."

Recent Intimate Wedding Ceremony

This playful exchange comes just weeks after the couple celebrated their intimate wedding ceremony in December 2025. The pair, who have been dating since 2018, tied the knot in a private ceremony at their self-build home in Kent, with only eleven guests in attendance.

The wedding followed their engagement announcement just three weeks earlier, which had taken place during a romantic trip to Ibiza. McCall described the ceremony as "very intimate and special" and called it "the best day of her life," noting that while she had "loved giving birth to my kids, this was different."

Decision on Surname and Public Identity

During the same podcast episode, the couple discussed whether McCall would be changing her surname following their marriage. The television presenter revealed she plans to maintain her professional identity, stating: "I think, like in public, I am Davina McCall. I've always been Davina."

Michael Douglas, 49, responded with affectionate humor: "Yeah. You've just happened to be my wife now." McCall confirmed her decision, replying: "Yeah, I'm going to stay like that."

Reflections on a Challenging Year

Michael Douglas also opened up about the difficulties of the past year, during which McCall has faced significant health challenges including a brain tumour and breast cancer. He described 2025 as "the hardest year of my life" and admitted it "broke me really," saying that by November he felt "done" and uncertain about recovery.

However, he expressed remarkable improvement in his wellbeing since then, stating: "I cannot tell you how good I feel....It's the best I've felt for as long as I can remember."

Professional Commitments Continue

Despite the personal celebrations and challenges, Davina McCall continues her professional television work. She returns to screens tonight from 9pm with 'Long Lost Family' on ITV One, where alongside co-star Nicky Campbell she will help reunite family members separated by adoption and other circumstances.

Speaking about the emotional nature of the program, McCall noted: "Sometimes with siblings, it's quite hard and painful, because one sibling might have grown up with their birth family, while the other was placed for adoption. There's a lot to unpack there, you know?"

The couple's ability to maintain their professional careers while navigating personal health challenges and celebrating their new marriage demonstrates their resilience and commitment to both their relationship and their individual pursuits in the public eye.
