Gemma Collins Savours Family Time Before I'm A Celebrity All Stars Launch
The reality television star Gemma Collins, aged 45, took a leisurely family walk in Chelmsford on Monday, enjoying the spring sunshine with her brother Ray and his children. This peaceful outing came just before her highly anticipated return to the jungle in the upcoming I'm A Celebrity: All Stars series.
A Dramatic Comeback to the Jungle
Gemma, famous for her role on The Only Way Is Essex, is making a dramatic comeback to the show after her initial stint in 2014 lasted only three days before she quit. While her participation in the All Stars edition has already been filmed, she used this downtime from promotional activities to reconnect with family, including her fiancé Rami Hawash's seven-year-old son Tristan.
Dressed casually in a bright pink padded jacket and leggings, Gemma appeared relaxed during the stroll, a stark contrast to the brewing controversy surrounding her campmates. The spin-off show, featuring an all-star lineup of past contestants, is scheduled to premiere on April 6, but tensions have already escalated behind the scenes.
WhatsApp Feud Erupts Before Show Airs
Reports indicate that Gemma has been embroiled in a feud with fellow contestant Sinitta, aged 62. In a group WhatsApp chat for the All Stars cast, Gemma allegedly accused Sinitta of being a 'rat' by leaking stories to the press, drawing comparisons to the infamous Wagatha Christie case. This accusation left Sinitta 'dumbfounded' and 'incredibly upset,' casting a 'massive cloud' over what was previously a 'jolly' group atmosphere.
A television insider revealed that the spat unfolded abruptly, with Gemma dropping the accusation into the chat without warning. Other celebrities in the group reportedly rallied to Sinitta's defense, feeling the public accusation was unnecessary. The insider added that Sinitta attempted to resolve the tension at the All Stars launch event in London's Ham Yard Hotel earlier this month, but Gemma brushed over the incident, acting 'very nice to her face,' which left a 'bad taste' among some cast members.
Cast Concerns and Historical Context
The rest of the cast are now said to be worried that Gemma might suddenly turn on them, adding to the pre-show drama. Gemma's history with I'm A Celebrity dates back to 2014, when she famously quit after just 72 hours, while Sinitta first entered the jungle in 2011. Representatives for both Gemma and Sinitta have been contacted for comment by Daily Mail, but responses are pending.
This tension follows other reported conflicts during filming, such as Adam Thomas falling into a fit of rage with footballer Jimmy Bullard. At a recent Q&A session, former Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt admitted that the cast no longer uses the group WhatsApp, hinting at underlying divisions. She noted, 'Let's not lie on this stage. I think naturally, in a social setting like that, you are drawn to certain people over others. That's just life, we did all get on. But, there were peaks and troughs wasn't there.'
As fans await the premiere, the blend of family tranquility and behind-the-scenes feuds sets the stage for a potentially explosive season of I'm A Celebrity All Stars.
