Gordon Ramsay's Netflix Remarks Intensify Feud with Adam Peaty's Parents
Gordon Ramsay has seemingly escalated tensions with Adam Peaty's family through comments made in his new Netflix documentary series, Being Gordon Ramsay. The celebrity chef's speech, which emphasises the importance of creating one's own family, appears to be a direct jab at the Olympic swimmer's parents amid an ongoing rift.
Pointed Comments in Netflix Series
In the series, Ramsay states, "The most important family is the one you create and she comes from an incredible family so its now her time to create her own family. It is quite a moment." These remarks were made in the context of his daughter Holly's engagement to Adam Peaty, whose mother Caroline was notably uninvited from their December wedding. The episode also features Adam praising Ramsay, describing them as "very similar", without mentioning his own family.
Engagement Party Footage and Family Backlash
Footage from the couple's engagement party, filmed months earlier at one of Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen restaurants, shows Caroline embracing Holly and watching Gordon deliver a speech. Reports indicate Caroline had requested to be edited out of the final cut due to the family dispute. Ramsay's speech at the event included welcoming Adam into the Ramsay family, saying, "Holly is everything you want in an amazing woman... we wish you all the best and we couldn't be prouder."
However, Adam's family has vehemently denied Ramsay's claims of being treated "like royalty". A family source told The Sun, "We are outraged. Gordon is nothing but a big bully and we hate bullies. How dare they – the sheer gall of them! You have pushed us too far!" They accused the Ramsays of ignoring Caroline and failing to follow through on promised gatherings.
Wedding Details and Celebrity Attendance
Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay married on December 27th at Bath Abbey. Caroline was not in attendance, with Adam's sister Bethany being the only family member from his side present. The star-studded event included guests such as the Beckhams (minus Brooklyn) and Adam's Strictly Come Dancing co-stars like Dan Walker and Sara Davies.
Gordon Ramsay previously defended his family's actions, telling the Daily Mail, "It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them." He described sending a chauffeur-driven car for Adam's parents and treating them with respect, expressing hurt over the negative press coverage.
The feud continues to unfold publicly, with both sides presenting conflicting narratives about the treatment of Adam Peaty's family during the engagement and wedding preparations.
