Reality television personality Jess Impiazzi has shared the exciting gender reveal of her long-awaited "miracle baby," confirming she and partner Sam Bird are expecting a son this spring. The 36-year-old star, who publicly announced her pregnancy earlier this week, disclosed the news through an emotional Instagram post that detailed her challenging fertility journey.
Emotional Announcement After Fertility Struggles
On Tuesday, Impiazzi took to social media to share multiple images including ultrasound scans, a babygrow with "Coming soon" text, and intimate photos of herself cradling her growing bump. Her heartfelt caption revealed the difficulties of keeping her pregnancy secret while navigating complex medical treatments.
"It's been hard keeping this secret, especially as a huge over sharer," Impiazzi wrote. "It's not been an easy journey but my @sambird_official has been there through every IVF appointment, every jab, every hospital appointment, and I love him so much."
Overcoming Medical Challenges
The expectant mother has been managing multiple health concerns throughout her pregnancy journey. Diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus in 2023, Impiazzi simultaneously received news of low ovarian reserve that same year, with her AMH level measuring at just 0.5 - exceptionally low for her then-age of 34.
In an interview with Closer magazine, Impiazzi expressed her initial surprise at the baby's gender: "I was convinced I was having a girl. Then I thought, actually, sometimes in life it's bloody hard being a woman and wouldn't it be lovely to have a boy to introduce me to motherhood."
She added her hopes for raising her son well, with aspirations for potential future children: "I'd raise him well, and if I get lucky enough to have a girl next, he can look after her if anyone messes with her!"
IVF Journey and Future Family Plans
Impiazzi has been remarkably open about her fertility struggles, previously sharing updates with fans about her egg collection process and creating a supportive community around IVF experiences. She revealed her diagnosis meant she would likely experience early menopause, making this pregnancy particularly meaningful.
"I have always wanted to have a family so to be told the chances of having my own children are slim is heartbreaking," she confessed. "We had talked about kids but we haven't even been together for two years and assumed we had more time."
Relationship Timeline and Support System
The television personality previously dated footballer Jermaine Pennant until 2023 before finding love with current partner Sam Bird, 39. Bird has been a constant support throughout the medical procedures, attending every appointment and injection session during their IVF treatment.
Impiazzi expressed her desire for more children with Bird if medically possible, telling Closer: "I would love more children with Sam if we are able to." The couple is preparing to welcome their baby boy in May 2026, with Impiazzi encouraging others to read about her complete fertility journey in this week's edition of Closer Magazine.
Her story has resonated with many facing similar fertility challenges, with Impiazzi noting: "I was actually shocked how many people are going through this or have been through this. It helps more than you know to have a community."
