Khloé Kardashian Contemplates Third Child and Surrogacy Journey
Khloé Kardashian Considers Third Child Via Surrogate

Reality television star Khloé Kardashian has revealed she is not ruling out the possibility of having a third child, despite the emotional challenges and past turmoil with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. The 41-year-old founder of Good American, who shares daughter True, eight in April, and son Tatum, three, with Thompson, 34, discussed her thoughts on a new episode of her podcast, Khloé In Wonder Land.

Pondering Future Family Plans

When a fan asked if she would want more children if she met her soulmate this year, Kardashian responded with a mix of uncertainty and hope. "Never say never. For me, I would want to be married and have kids that way," she said, highlighting her ideal scenario. However, she also admitted to considering alternative paths, including using embryos stored in the freezer.

Emotional and Practical Considerations

Kardashian expressed doubts about her energy levels for another baby but noted, "I do think girls need sisters." She revealed she has been contemplating going it alone, stating, "I have been contemplating, do I just do this? Do it on my own. But I don't know if, emotionally, I can handle this." She clarified that these are just thoughts she has been mulling over recently.

Surrogacy as a Potential Solution

The reality star explained that if she proceeds, she would likely use a surrogate, hoping for a better experience than with Tatum's birth. "I would put the baby in a surrogate and I think I would have a very different experience because I would be along for that surrogate journey, as opposed to all the trauma that surrounded Tatum's surrogate experience," she said. Kardashian acknowledged the uncertainties, adding, "When you put an embryo in, there's no guarantee that it will take, so I also was thinking I could try that and if it doesn't work that means God didn't want me to have another baby and that's fine."

Past Trauma with Tristan Thompson

Kardashian's relationship with Thompson has been marred by infidelity scandals. Thompson cheated on her in 2018, which came to light days before she gave birth to True. Later, the NBA star admitted to fathering a child with Maralee Nichols while a surrogate was pregnant with Tatum. This history has added layers of complexity to her family planning decisions.

Co-Parenting Challenges

Elsewhere in the podcast, Kardashian discussed the difficulties of co-parenting with Thompson since ending their romance for good in 2022. "I think [our kids] are mine," she admitted, "I’m like, I have to run this by someone else and get permission? Obviously, that’s the right thing to do and of course, my kids have a dad, but I’m the mom. I would never do anything to hurt my kids. …Tristan is great with trusting me, but it’s still a struggle sometimes." She also recalled a disagreement over naming True, with Thompson wanting to call her Khaleesi, which Kardashian firmly rejected.

Broader Family Dynamics

The cheating scandal also impacted Kardashian's family, leading to a falling out between her sister Kylie Jenner and then-best friend Jordyn Woods in February 2019. Woods claimed on Facebook's Red Table Talk that Thompson kissed her at an afterparty, resulting in her moving out of Jenner's guest house and a years-long estrangement.

As Kardashian navigates these personal and family issues, her openness about contemplating a third child sheds light on the emotional and practical considerations many face in modern parenting and relationships.
