Former Love Island contestant Matt Zukowski has disclosed that he retains a permanent tattoo commemorating his short-lived marriage to social media influencer Tammy Hembrow. The 31-year-old reality television personality has his ex-partner's name indelibly inked on his hip, originally matching a similar tattoo that Tammy, also 31, acquired with his name.
Instagram Photo Sparks Speculation
On Tuesday, Matt shared a photograph to his Instagram account, showcasing his athletic physique as he emerged from a swimming pool in a suggestive pose. While his low-slung shorts left Tammy's name fully visible on his hip, he made a peculiar effort to conceal it by digitally drawing a black mark over the tattoo in the image, rather than cropping it out or covering it with clothing.
History of Partner-Inspired Ink
This is not the first instance where Matt has tattooed a partner's name onto his skin. In 2022, he inked the name of a previous girlfriend, Genevieve, on his buttock within a small heart design. Following their breakup in 2023, he documented the removal of that tattoo in a sponsored social media post merely one month prior to his wedding to Tammy in 2024.
Matt's recent online editing of his tattoo comes in stark contrast to Tammy's actions. As the New Year commenced, the influencer opted for a fresh start by completely erasing Matt from her body through laser removal treatments.
Tammy's Clean Slate Approach
Tammy shared her own sponsored post online, revealing she had several tattoos removed, including Matt's name and their wedding date. "I have my ex's name down on my hip – and I don't need that one," she stated while applying numbing cream to the intimate area. She also removed a large floral design from her back that she had desired to eliminate for years.
In a further Instagram Stories update, Tammy disclosed she was using Numit numbing cream to alleviate the discomfort of the laser procedure. Ironically, Numit also sponsored Matt when he had his Genevieve tattoo removed previously.
Rapid Relationship Timeline
Matt and Tammy's relationship progressed swiftly; they became engaged in December 2023 after only three months of dating. The couple married in November 2024, but announced their divorce in June 2025. Matt later revealed on the television programme I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! that while they were publicly married for seven months, they had actually separated after just three months of matrimony.
The contrasting approaches to their commemorative tattoos highlight the divergent paths both individuals have taken following their highly publicised split. While Tammy has chosen complete removal, Matt has opted for a digital cover-up, leaving the physical ink intact as a permanent reminder of their tumultuous union.
