Niall Horan Evades Amanda Holden's Proposal Question on Heart Breakfast
Niall Horan Dodges Amanda Holden's Proposal Question

Former One Direction singer Niall Horan found himself in an uncomfortable spotlight on Friday when he dodged a pointed question about marriage plans from radio host Amanda Holden. The 32-year-old pop star was appearing on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden to discuss his upcoming fourth studio album, titled "Dinner Party," which he revealed is entirely inspired by his relationship with fashion buyer and marketing professional Amelia Woolley.

Awkward Exchange on Air

During the interview, Holden pressed Horan about his romantic future with Woolley, whom he has been dating since 2020. "They've been going out quite a long time now, and I always do say there should be a ring on there really at this point," Holden remarked, putting the singer on the spot. Horan responded with visible discomfort, telling Holden, "Don't look at me like that," before attempting to steer the conversation back to his music.

Album Inspired by Romance

Horan explained that the album "Dinner Party" was born from the night he first met Woolley at a social gathering. "I just I met her at a dinner party, literally, and wrote a song about it," he shared. "But it's crazy, like, then, what that dinner party... it's not just that night. Like it allowed me to write every other song since, because I'm thinking about the small moments that you have in that relationship, and it all started at that focal point."

When co-host Jamie Theakston asked how Woolley feels about having two albums dedicated to her, Horan admitted, "I think she's just dumbfounded by the whole thing. You know, she's obviously never had a song written about her before. And then I've written basically two albums about her and she's like 'ehh?'"

Persistent Questioning

Despite Horan's clear reluctance to discuss his personal life, Holden continued to probe. "I won't ask, but they've been going out quite a long time now, and I always do say there should be a ring on there really at this point," she repeated. "But I won't say anything, you don't have to answer the question, it's awkward!"

The tension escalated as Holden suggested, "I'm just saying just think about it," with Theakston humorously adding, "Amanda is saying should she buy a hat?" Holden even offered to connect Horan with a jeweler in Dubai, saying, "I know a great person in Dubai if you need a nice big ring." Horan laughed off the comment with a brief, "Oh do you?" but provided no further insight into his intentions.

Relationship Background

Horan and Woolley's relationship began in 2020, though they kept it private until their public debut at his Horan & Rose Gala in September 2021. The couple has maintained a notably low profile, with Horan being the most reserved member of One Direction, often seen on golf courses or in recording studios rather than in the celebrity limelight.

New Family Home

In recent months, the pair have taken a significant step forward by purchasing a luxurious six-bedroom mansion in west London. The property, reportedly worth £10 million, is located in a star-studded neighbourhood near celebrities like Holly Willoughby and Ant and Dec. A source told The Sun, "Niall has bought himself a gorgeous house and now lives close to celebs like Holly Willoughby and Ant & Dec. He did have a very cool penthouse in London but he wanted to get somewhere a little more grown up."

The source added that the couple, who share a dog, have already settled into their new home and are enjoying a "quiet life" in the area. "Niall's new place is set across a number of floors and has six bedrooms, so it feels like a proper family home. He is really settled with his girlfriend Amelia Woolley. They have a dog and are just like any other couple in their 30s - bar the fact he's got a fortune in the bank," the insider revealed.

Despite their high-profile surroundings, the couple has managed to maintain their privacy. "They've been spotted a few times in the neighbourhood now but people leave Niall alone and let him just get on with his day. It's lovely that someone as well known as Niall can live the quiet life he's always wanted," the source concluded.
