Nicole Kidman stole the show on Tuesday when she arrived in Biarritz, France for the Chanel Cruise 2026/27 collection. However, it was not solely her backless ensemble that captured attention. The 58-year-old actress raised concerns over a subtle detail spotted on her hands as she posed for photographs in a sleek black dress.
Almost invisible to casual observers, a bluish-black mark was visible on the tips of her pinkie and ring fingers, resembling a significant bruise. The possible injury largely went unnoticed as the Hollywood star captivated onlookers in her chic gown, which featured an open back. At one point, the Practical Magic star pressed her hands together in a prayer motion before blowing a kiss. While the sleeve of her frock covered part of her hand, her fingers peeked out, revealing the dark bruise on the side of her pinkie. There also appeared to be a smaller, similar mark on the tip of her ring finger.
Nicole appeared unconcerned by the mark as she leaned against a railing and struck a pose in her 1990s-inspired look. The black dress offered a conservative front view with a maxi cut at her ankles, but the backless feature boasted a floral detail fixed in place with chains. Pulling her blonde locks back into a casual up-do, she accessorised with low sling-back heels and retro ovular glasses. She also carried a pale blue Chanel purse with gold hardware and finished her ensemble with simple diamond earrings.
Elsewhere at the fashion show was Honor Swinton-Byrne, the daughter of late playwright John Byrne and Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton. Honor attended with her famous mother, looking sensational in a black tailored jacket with white floral embellishments. Nicole was also joined by Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Sofia Coppola, Chewing Gum actress and creator Michaela Coel, and rapper A$AP Rocky.
This appearance comes after Nicole broke her silence on her divorce from Keith Urban in a glossy magazine interview last month, accompanied by a lingerie photoshoot. Nicole and Keith, also 58, were married for 19 years before announcing their shock separation in September last year. Their divorce was finalised in January. Both have been tight-lipped about the split. In her Variety interview, Nicole said she is now focused on her family and 'keeping them as is'. 'What I'm grateful for is my family, and keeping them as is, and moving forward. That's that,' she said. 'I'm staying in a place of, "We are a family," and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.' Nicole and Keith have two daughters: 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 15-year-old Faith Margaret. She said lovingly of them: 'I was raised to be able to mix in any circles, to really operate where everyone is equal and sit in all walks of life. I came from very socially conscious parents. We would always have people staying at our house. There was just a lot of rigorous conversation and exposure to many, many things. We're all very different, but we're deeply connected and close. My daughter is in Paris right now working for Dior.' When asked if she was 'doing all right' since the separation, the red-headed siren said: 'I am, because I'm always going to be moving toward what's good. [Last year] I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell. Now I'm in a place of saying, "2026. Here we go."'
