Mother of Viral 'Okay Baby' Toddler Releases Heartbreaking 911 Call Audio
The mother of the late toddler who became famous on TikTok as the 'Okay Baby' has publicly shared the gut-wrenching audio from the 911 emergency call she made immediately after the car accident that tragically killed her two-year-old son. Katelynn Ordone, who survived the crash but suffered a traumatic brain injury that erased her memory of the event, obtained the recordings and posted them to social media on January 21st alongside a poignant video montage.
The Tragic Accident and Aftermath
Two-year-old Preston Ordone, who captured the hearts of millions through viral videos shared by his influencer parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone, died in April following a devastating single-vehicle collision in rural Louisiana. The family's Ford F-150 truck lost control and collided with a tree in St. Tammany Parish, approximately 50 miles north of New Orleans. While both parents survived with serious injuries and were transported to different hospitals, Preston sustained fatal injuries.
According to the Louisiana State Police report, the accident occurred shortly before 11:50 AM. The report stated that Preston was 'improperly restrained in a child safety seat in the rear' of the vehicle, a claim that has been disputed by the Ordone family. The driver and front passenger, both properly restrained, sustained serious injuries. The couple's seven-year-old daughter, Paisley, was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The Emotional 911 Call and Social Media Post
In the video shared by Katelynn Ordone, the audio of her frantic 911 call plays over a montage of clips from the hospital, the funeral, and the accident scene. The mother appears emotionless in the video, with a caption reading: 'When I zone out, and people think I'm tired, but the worst day of my life plays over and over again.'
The harrowing call captures a dispatcher asking if she can hear her, to which Ordone frantically replies, 'I don't know, I don't even know where I am right now.' She repeats her confusion about her location while screaming into the phone, pleading 'Help, please' and crying out 'please god' amidst other distressed, largely inaudible screams.
In the caption accompanying her post, Ordone wrote: 'This is the harsh reality of tragedy and grief that a lot of people don’t share. I don’t have a memory of the day, but I was able to get all 911 phone call recordings.' She revealed in an earlier upload that she only realised she had spoken with emergency services after reviewing her call logs, discovering the conversation lasted approximately five minutes.
Internet Fame and Outpouring of Support
Preston Ordone, known affectionately as the 'Okay Baby', shot to internet fame through adorable videos where he would say 'OK' before engaging in activities like jumping in mud puddles. These clips amassed millions of views, endearing him to a global audience.
Since sharing the video nine months after her son's death, social media users have flooded the comments with messages of sympathy and support. One user wrote: 'Sweet Preston. May God bless you and your family in such a horrible tragedy.' Another commented: 'Such a beautiful boy. Grief is both a terrible and beautiful thing. You have so many beautiful memories with him. And thank you for sharing those memories with us.'
A third supporter noted: 'My heart goes out to you and your entire family. I cannot begin to understand what you are going through.' Another added: 'Even from this side of the world, Preston was just a beautiful and joyful delight to see. Thank you for sharing his light with us.'
The Louisiana State Police confirmed Preston's death on social media in April, bringing the tragic news to his many followers and highlighting the sudden loss of a child who brought joy to millions through his innocent online presence.
