Olivia Attwood has candidly disclosed the extreme measures she's taking to navigate her demanding professional life in the wake of her separation from footballer husband Bradley Dack. The 34-year-old television presenter admitted she has resorted to 'slapping herself in the face and gritting her teeth' to maintain her hectic work commitments.
A Busy Schedule Amid Personal Turmoil
Since confirming the end of her two-year marriage last month, Attwood has thrown herself into an intensive work routine. She has been meticulously documenting her packed diary, which recently included flying to Turkey to film fresh episodes of her ITV2 documentary series The Price Of Perfection.
Opening Up to Followers
During a break on set, Attwood engaged with her social media followers through a Q&A session. When questioned about how she was managing post-split, she responded simply: 'I'm OK.' However, she elaborated further when a fan commended her for continuing to work despite personal challenges.
She wrote: 'I have worked too hard for too long to let my professional life suffer. Been a lot of slapping myself round the face and gritting my teeth lol.'
Embracing Single Life and Staying Busy
Attwood hasn't shied away from acknowledging her new relationship status. She recently told followers that this Valentine's Day marked her first without a boyfriend since she was approximately 14 years old. In a message to fans, she penned: 'Happy Valentine's Day my cherubs I love you all so much x. My first Valentines without a boyfriend since I was like 14 years old lol so I took myself shopping obvs.'
The reality star has been transparent about her coping strategy, resharing a poignant social media video that stated: 'Forever the girl who needs to stay busy to be okay.'
Professional Commitments as Distraction
Insiders report that Attwood is 'pouring every inch' of her energy into work following the separation announcement. Her professional portfolio remains extensive, including:
- Her Olivia's House podcast
- A KISS FM radio show co-hosted with Pete Wicks
- Continued filming for her documentary series Getting Filthy Rich
- A new collaboration with skincare brand Garnier
She temporarily set aside her marital difficulties last Thursday night when she was unveiled as the new face of Garnier at an event at The Newman Hotel. Attwood was spotted leaving the celebration in the early hours of Friday morning accompanied by Pete Wicks and a group of friends.
An Emotional Statement on the Split
In a heartfelt statement confirming her separation from Dack, Attwood expressed her struggle with vulnerability on social media. She wrote: 'I keep opening Instagram to post but I don't know what to say or do? lol vulnerability is not my bag!!! Especially on social media, it feels very much like bleeding in shark infested waters.'
She continued: 'I cry myself to sleep, then business as normal when the alarm goes off at 5am and it has been like that for a long time. But also so much change in such a short amount of time... I never expected to be moving into this apartment alone. And I'm in over my depth for sure.'
Attwood concluded with a message of hope: 'I want to be happy. I want Brad to be happy. Just one day at a time. For both of us. & anyone else who needs to read this. Normal programming and chatting will resume asap. Ps thank you, I feel your love immensely.'
A week prior to this statement, the newly single star explained that she was 'working out a lot' and 'filming a lot' to keep herself distracted from personal matters. She also teased her upcoming ITV show The Heat on Instagram, posting: 'What I told you about work being busy lol... brand new tele. I promise you don't want to miss this...'
