Music icon Rick Springfield has delivered characteristically blunt advice to fellow stars Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, just a fortnight after their high-profile divorce was legally finalised. The 76-year-old Jessie's Girl singer shared his thoughts during a spontaneous interview with TMZ at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday. This comes months after the world first learned of the couple's shock separation in September of last year.
The Finalised Split and Settlement Details
The divorce, which ended a 19-year marriage between the 58-year-old Moulin Rouge actress and the country music star of the same age, was finalised earlier this month. Kidman had originally cited irreconcilable differences. Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail reveal the pair have reached a comprehensive settlement agreement.
Key financial terms include:
- Both parties have waived all rights to child support and spousal support.
- Each star is responsible for their own legal fees and expenses.

Kidman will have the teenagers for 306 days of the year, while Urban will have them for 59 days. Despite reportedly having monthly incomes in excess of $100,000, they have agreed to a child support arrangement of zero dollars.
Sources indicate Kidman is now focusing on her children and career, feeling refreshed and optimistic. She spent the holidays in her native Australia and took a trip to South America before returning to Nashville with her daughters. Conversely, reports suggest Urban has found the split challenging. An alleged source told New Idea the singer felt completely lost, especially after spending Christmas alone and missing his youngest daughter's recent birthday. The source described him as having lost his navigational device.
