This Morning viewers saw a familiar face back on the ITV show this week after a trip of a lifetime. On Wednesday's show (April 22), hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley welcomed back their co-star Sayeeda Warsi, who had been away for several months.
Ben Welcomes Sayeeda Back
Before diving into the headlines, Ben Shephard was quick to announce Sayeeda's return. He said: "Sayeeda, lovely to have you back with us! In case anybody isn't aware—and I can't believe they wouldn't be—just explain where you've been and what you've been up to."
Sayeeda's Travel Adventures
Sayeeda replied: "So my husband and I have been having a very adult gap time. We went away in December and we've been travelling. We've been to New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Doha. I mean all over the place. It's just been fabulous. Honestly, we've just had the time of our lives."
When asked about her favourite destination, Sayeeda revealed it was New Zealand. She shared a story about her husband: "My crazy husband, he has a fear of heights, so he decided to bungee jump off the original bridge where bungee jumping was invented in New Zealand, so yeah it was a crazy moment! He loved it, he said he should've done it years ago. We were kind of channelling our inner 21-year-olds, living it all out again. Queenstown was phenomenal, it really was an adrenaline junkie place."
Children's Reaction
Cat Deeley wondered what her children thought of the adventure. Sayeeda shared: "There were moments when we were travelling to quite bizarre places with people we'd never met, to meet up with other people we'd never met in quite remote areas. I remember my son text the rest of the kids saying, 'It's time to get the parents to come home, they are both deeply irresponsible'. It's great to be back."
Previous Embarrassing Moment
At the end of last year, Sayeeda was left red-faced on This Morning when her husband made an unexpected phone call during a sensitive topic. While the panel discussed a national prostate cancer screening programme, her phone rang and Gyles Brandreth playfully answered, saying: "I'm so sorry, she's actually on the television at the moment. Call her back in about 10 minutes. She's very very good by the way. I'll look after her." Laughing, Sayeeda said: "I will call him back. His timing, honestly."
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
