Sharon Osbourne has demonstrated her gradual healing journey following the tragic death of her husband, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, with support from famous friends including Beatles icon Paul McCartney. The 73-year-old America's Got Talent star, who has spoken openly about her grief since Ozzy passed away from heart failure in July at age 76, appeared happy and healthy while attending a screening for McCartney's new Prime Video documentary 'Man On The Run' on Wednesday.
A Musical Connection Through The Beatles
Ozzy Osbourne had long expressed admiration for The Beatles, crediting them as his inspiration for launching a music career. Just one month before his death, he named Paul McCartney as his 'dream' collaboration partner. The rocker had previously covered The Beatles' 1965 track 'In My Life' on his 2005 album 'Prince Of Darkness'.
Historic Meetings Between Ozzy and Paul
The two music legends first met in 2001 backstage at the Howard Stern show, where Ozzy rushed to embrace McCartney and admitted it was a 'lifetime ambition' to meet him. This emotional moment was captured in Paul's documentary 'The Love We Make', which chronicled his journey through a recovering New York after the 9/11 attacks.
In a clip from that meeting, Ozzy told Paul: 'It's great to meet you man, it's been a lifetime ambition of mine, you guys made me start music.' Ozzy later recalled the encounter on The Osbournes podcast, saying: 'I'm a big Beatles fan and when I first met Paul McCartney, it was like meeting Jesus Christ. And he was a very nice man, a very nice man.'
The pair reunited in 2008 when Ozzy and Sharon hosted the Brit Awards together, with Paul performing during the ceremony. Ozzy described this experience as 'the most special' of his career.
Family Support During Emotional Grammy Tribute
Earlier this month, Sharon received support from her children Jack and Kelly at Universal Music Group's afterparty for the 2026 Grammy Awards, following an emotional breakdown during the ceremony's tribute to Ozzy. The family's appearance came after their visible reaction to the Grammys' heartfelt 'In Memoriam' segment honoring the rock legend.
Ozzy's legacy was celebrated with a powerful performance of his Black Sabbath classic 'War Pigs' by Post Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt. Standing in the audience, the Osbourne family couldn't hold back tears as the music swelled. Kelly was visibly shaken, flanked by Sharon who dabbed at her eyes, while Jack stared ahead with a tight jaw as he tried to maintain composure.
Kelly Osbourne's Ongoing Grief
Kelly Osbourne revealed on the Grammy red carpet that she had been preparing emotionally for the tribute, stating: 'It means more than I can express into words. To see his peers and this community cherish him in such a way, and in a way that he deserves. It'll be very emotional.'
Speaking to PEOPLE ahead of the ceremony, Kelly described losing her father as 'the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life.' She explained: 'I won't lie. I won't be one of those people that say I'm fine because I'm not. That's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life.'
Supported by fiancé Sid Wilson, with whom she shares three-year-old son Sidney, Kelly emphasized family bonding: 'But I have my man, and I have my gorgeous baby, and my mom and my brother and I so bonded. I didn't think we could ever get more bonded, but we did.'
Daily Rituals to Honor Ozzy's Memory
Kelly shared intimate details about how she keeps her father's memory alive through daily rituals. She always lights a candle and keeps a seat empty at her table in Ozzy's honor, while wearing a special locket containing his picture. Describing her father as 'one of the greatest men to ever live,' Kelly revealed: 'It's under my dress, you can't see it, but it has his picture in it, and my baby opens it every day and gives it a kiss and says hi to Papa. And every time I see the clock at 11:11, I know that's him talking to me.'
Sharon also marked her first Valentine's Day without Ozzy earlier this month, continuing her journey of healing while surrounded by family and friends who provide crucial support during this difficult period.
