TikTok Star in Sydney Court Over Hot Chocolate Assault

German-born TikTok personality Samuela Brachtendorf has appeared before a magistrate in Sydney, facing serious charges after an alleged altercation involving hot chocolate. The 19-year-old social media star, who is currently travelling in Australia on a working visa, was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following the incident.

Court Proceedings and Bail Conditions

The Daily Telegraph reported that Brachtendorf appeared via video link in an online bail court on Monday. Her criminal solicitor, Zahir Zakaria, informed the court that the matter would be vigorously defended. 'She came to Australia on a working visa, she's working and planning to travel around the state,' Zakaria stated during the proceedings.

Magistrate David Mulroney granted bail under strict conditions. The TikTok influencer was required to surrender her passport and instructed not to approach any international points of departure. Additionally, she must report to police every Wednesday while the case progresses through the legal system.

Viral Video and Social Media Response

The charges stem from an incident captured on video in Bourke Street, Chippendale, which rapidly gained traction online overnight. Brachtendorf responded to the growing attention with a 'storytime' TikTok video that has already amassed over one million views.

In the emotional video, filmed in German with English captions, the influencer revealed she had recently ended a relationship and was experiencing difficulties with her living situation. 'Our flatshare no longer talks to each other,' she confessed in the caption. 'I'm happy now that the two girls are moving out on Monday.'

Brachtendorf further explained that her former housemates were celebrating their graduation party at her ex-boyfriend's apartment, adding 'I cried over (my ex-boyfriend) at her place.' It has been clarified that neither her former friend nor the ex-boyfriend face any allegations of wrongdoing.

Aftermath and Future Court Date

Following her court appearance, Brachtendorf documented the experience in another TikTok video filmed outside the Police Centre in Surry Hills. 'I was arrested and have now been released again,' she informed her substantial following of 230,000 subscribers.

The magistrate indicated during proceedings that he believed it was likely Brachtendorf would be found guilty on the charges, though her legal team maintains the matter will be contested. The TikTok star, who has been working as an Uber driver while documenting her Australian travels and recent breast augmentation surgery, is scheduled to next appear at Downing Centre Local Court on February 5.
