Celebrity Wedding Planner Reveals Nicola Peltz's Key Rule During Brooklyn Beckham Nuptials

Renowned celebrity wedding guru Preston Bailey has broken his silence about working with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz ahead of their 2022 wedding, offering fresh insights as the couple's dramatic fallout with the Beckham family continues to dominate headlines. The celebrated planner, whose client roster includes Donald and Melania Trump, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, and Michael Douglas, was originally hired by the young couple to orchestrate their lavish April nuptials.

Surprise at Brooklyn's Blistering Statement Against Parents

Bailey expressed genuine surprise at Brooklyn Beckham's recent explosive statement against his parents, which thrust the couple's wedding back into the spotlight with sensational claims. The wedding planner told Page Six, "It surprises me that he [Brooklyn] is taking this stand against his parents. That's not the Brooklyn I met as far as him being this nice, gentle guy. He was just a nice, regular person who would say hello and chit chat."

During their extensive planning sessions, Bailey observed Brooklyn as being "very much involved" in the design details, describing him consistently as "a gentle, decent guy" where "there was never any tension" between the couple during their collaboration.

Nicola's Firm Rule About Brooklyn's Approval

Addressing circulating claims about Nicola Peltz being controlling, Bailey offered a different perspective based on his direct experience. "I don't remember her being bossy. I remember a lot of affection between them," the planner revealed. He then highlighted one particular rule that Nicola insisted upon throughout the planning process.

"Whatever design was done was presented to Nicola, but it was important for her to have Brooklyn approve it," Bailey explained. "She wasn't going to do anything without his approval." This collaborative approach between the couple stood out to the experienced planner during their months of preparation.

Planning Logistics and Subsequent Legal Disputes

Bailey conducted planning sessions with Brooklyn and Nicola both over Zoom and in person at the Peltz family home in Palm Beach, noting that he had no direct contact with David or Victoria Beckham during this period. After eleven months of collaboration, Bailey ultimately had to withdraw from the project due to his demanding work schedule, leaving the couple to find alternative arrangements.

The transition to new planners proved contentious, with Nicola's father Nelson Peltz filing a lawsuit in February 2023 against the subsequent wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba. The legal action centered on a $159,000 deposit that Nelson claimed wasn't returned after the planners were dismissed just nine days into their six-week contract.

The wedding planners countersued, alleging breach of contract, before both parties reached a settlement in September 2023. As part of the resolution, the planners agreed to make a donation to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund in Nicola and Brooklyn's names, with Michelle Rago eventually taking over the wedding planning responsibilities.

Family Dynamics and Public Appearances

The revelations come as the rest of the Beckham family presented a united front in Paris, where Victoria Beckham received the prestigious Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters honour from the French Ministry of Culture. During her emotional acceptance speech, Victoria acknowledged all her children without specifically naming them, while neither she nor David has publicly addressed Brooklyn's allegations.

Sources close to the couple suggest "they are staying quiet because they don't want to draw more attention to it," with another insider insisting, "Though they're stinging from their son's strong words, David and Victoria love Brooklyn and are afraid of losing their son. They would take him back in a minute."

Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Nicola continue to share their life together on social media, regularly posting photographs from their recent outings and time spent as a couple, maintaining their public presence despite the ongoing family tensions.
