Zach Bryan's Ex Brianna LaPaglia Brands His Marriage a Personal 'Dig'

Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia, the former partner of country music star Zach Bryan, has delivered a scathing assessment of his recent marriage to yoga instructor Samantha Leonard, describing it as a deliberate provocation aimed at her. LaPaglia and Bryan ended their fifteen-month relationship in October 2024, with LaPaglia subsequently alleging infidelity throughout their time together.

Eerie Resemblance Sparks Controversy

Last summer, Bryan, aged 29, began a relationship with Samantha Leonard, a woman fans have noted bears a striking physical resemblance to LaPaglia. Merely five months into their courtship, the couple surprised followers by exchanging vows on New Year's Eve in San Sebastian, Spain. LaPaglia, now 26, characterized this swift marriage during an appearance on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast as "a dig at me."

When co-host Mike Maljak suggested that "men do sometimes be having a type," LaPaglia firmly rebutted, stating, "no one before me ever looked like me, let's be real." This sentiment has been echoed by observers, including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who described Leonard as a "clone" of LaPaglia.

Shocking Claims Over Multi-Million Dollar NDA

In the same revealing interview, LaPaglia made sensational claims regarding a $12.9 million nondisclosure agreement Bryan allegedly presented to her. She asserted that signing the document would have effectively barred her from social media, crippling her career as a content creator and podcaster.

"I wouldn't have been able to do my job. I wouldn't have been able to post anything. I wouldn't have been able to say anything. I could only say positive remarks," LaPaglia explained, detailing the restrictive terms she claims were proposed.

She further alleged that the NDA's constraints would have extended to her entire professional circle at Barstool Sports, including podcast co-hosts Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards. "They would've been under control. I'm like: 'That's literally impossible. What are you talking about? Insane,'" she recounted.

Allegations of Control and Surveillance

LaPaglia maintained she has no regrets about refusing the substantial financial offer, insisting her decision was principled. "I know that no one believes me but if I wanted to I would've f***ing taken it," she stated. When pressed on her refusal, she hinted at deeper turmoil, saying, "You guys have no idea the half of what I went through with this person."

She described the proposed agreement as excessively controlling, alleging it would have required her to remain under surveillance by Bryan's team for five years until the payout was complete, with mandatory check-ins and contact with his management. "It was so controlling, and I would've had to do check-ins with them, stay in contact with his manager," she told the podcast hosts. Maljak compared these alleged terms to probationary restrictions, praising her decision as "noble," though LaPaglia insisted it was simply a personal necessity to close that chapter of her life.

Accusations of Abuse and New Album Jabs

Questioned about Bryan's purported need for post-breakup control, LaPaglia denounced her ex as "a psychopath, a narcissist and a very scary person," accusing him of "literal, narcissistic emotional abuse" and isolating her from her own life.

Her comments follow the release of Bryan's new album, With Heaven on Top, which dropped just nine days after his wedding. Observers suggest three tracks contain veiled references to LaPaglia. In the song Skin, Bryan sings of "taking a blade to my old tattoos," a possible nod to matching ink the couple once shared. Slicked Back appears to contrast Leonard's artistic pursuits with a social media-focused lifestyle, while Plastic Cigarette seems to reflect on their first meeting in Queens.

Background on the NDA Negotiations

LaPaglia first discussed the alleged NDA publicly a month after the split on her own podcast. She recounted a protracted negotiation where offers reportedly escalated from $10 million to $12.9 million, including properties. "They gave me all these options, they started low and then they went up to $10 million, then $12 million. Then they wanted to give me a house, then they wanted to give me a New York apartment," she said.

She expressed bewilderment at the scale of the proposed settlement, questioning, "What the f*** are you hiding, dude? What are you scared of?" According to her account, she initially agreed to accept the money but reversed her decision after alleged delays and excuses from Bryan's team regarding the transfer. The Daily Mail has contacted Bryan's representative for comment on these allegations.
