A haunting portrait of Abbie Chatfield's boyfriend Adam Hyde has been named as a finalist in the Archibald Prize. The painting of Adam, 35, who is one half of EDM duo Peking Duk and also performs solo under the moniker Keli Holliday, was one of 59 selected for the prestigious prize on Thursday.

Titled 'Keep on Stingin'', the portrait, painted by Sydney-based illustrator Sindy Sinn, is a close-up of Adam's face sporting a serious expression. The eye-catching piece features a definite 'pop-art' influence with its thick, bold outlines. The large-scale work adopts an impressionistic vibe rather than strict realism, capturing Adam's high-energy stage persona.
Taking to Instagram to describe the work, Sindy said that his subject trusted him completely to capture him on canvas. 'This one means a lot, I'm so proud to have this work hanging at the @artgalleryofnsw. Surreal,' he wrote. 'The work is called Keep On Stingin'. A 150 x 200cm portrait painted in heavy-bodied acrylics and house paints on canvas. Back in February, Adam sat for me in my Marrickville studio and trusted me completely to paint him the way I saw him.'
Artist's Background
It's not the first time that the artist has submitted a portrait for the iconic art prize. Back in 2025, he submitted a very colourful depiction of broadcaster Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald. However, this is the first year he has been selected as a finalist.
Portraits of fellow musicians Daniel Johns, Jim Moginie, Cody Simpson, Mick Turner, William Barton and Jessica Cottis were also named as finalists.
Adam Hyde's Recent Confession
The announcement comes after Adam shocked fans with a candid confession, revealing he often struggles with loneliness. He shared a clip to social media on Monday showing him swimming in a local creek, accompanied by the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? theme music. Over the footage, Adam joked about different coping strategies for dealing with his emotions.
'My life is crying out for human connection and joy. Should I - A) Join a run club and go to a coffee shop rave, B) Crash out and then text my ex at 4am,' Adam began. 'C) Simultaneously doom-scroll and vape continuously for 12 hours, D) Dance with strangers in a dark room filled with love (at a Keli Holiday show). Take your pick.'
Fans quickly flooded the comments section, with many joking the answer was obvious — attending one of his shows. 'Clearly the D is where it's at,' one person wrote, and a second added: 'D sounds reasonable.'
