Macaulay Culkin Makes Fashion Statement at Dior Show Following Co-Star's Death

Macaulay Culkin turned heads with a distinctive fashion choice as he attended the Dior show during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. The Hollywood actor, aged 45, appeared in good spirits during his first public appearance since the shocking death of his Home Alone co-star Catherine O'Hara in January at the age of 71.

Quirky Outfit and Painted Nails Steal the Spotlight

Culkin rocked a quirky white jumper featuring the iconic Very Hungry Caterpillar design from Eric Carle's 1969 children's book, layered over a smart blue shirt. He paired this with rolled-up blue denim jeans and brown Dior printed trainers, creating a unique ensemble that blended casual and high-fashion elements.

However, it was his colourful painted nails that truly caught the eye as he posed for photos on the red carpet. Earlier in the day, the actor was spotted wearing sunglasses while exiting his hotel in Paris, adding to his stylish appearance at the event.

Emotional Tribute to Catherine O'Hara

Catherine O'Hara passed away in late January from a pulmonary embolism caused by rectal cancer. Following her death, Culkin took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, posting two photos of them together. One was a movie still, and the other a more recent image taken on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He captioned the post with emotional words: 'Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you but I had so much more to say. I love you. I'll see you later.'

Remembering O'Hara's Legacy and Their Bond

O'Hara was well-known for her role as Moira Rose on Schitt's Creek, for which she won an Emmy in 2020, and more recently starred as Patty Leigh in Apple TV+'s The Studio. Culkin and the award-winning entertainer shared an emotional final reunion two years ago when she introduced him at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in December 2023.

At that event, O'Hara delivered a heartfelt speech, praising Culkin's performance in the 1990 blockbuster Home Alone as 'perfect' and highlighting his professionalism and passion for acting. She noted that he always brings his 'sweet and twisted, yet totally relatable sense of humor to every project he does.'

She concluded with her signature humor, saying, 'And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once, but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I'm so proud of you.' The onscreen mother-son duo shared a tearful embrace, marking a poignant moment in their long-standing relationship.

Industry Recognition of Their Reunion

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, had previously expressed excitement over O'Hara and Culkin's reunion in a press release, stating, 'How fitting that Catherine O'Hara who played Macaulay's mother in the film is reuniting with her movie son and will be speaking at the ceremony!'

This background adds depth to Culkin's appearance at the Dior show, as it comes amid reflections on his bond with O'Hara and her enduring legacy in Hollywood.
