Tigerlily Taylor Stuns at London Fashion Week in Daring Chain Mesh Top

Model Tigerlily Taylor, the 31-year-old daughter of Queen drummer Roger Taylor and former actress Debbie Leng, made a sensational appearance at designer Annie's London Fashion Week show on Thursday night. The star-studded catwalk event, held at the prestigious Spencer House, saw Tigerlily command attention in a revealing chain mesh top that showcased her confidence on the fashion front line.

Fashion Week Front Row Gathers Notable Names

Tigerlily was joined by an impressive array of guests on the front row, including pregnant model Daisy Lowe, 37, and Kim Turnbull, 24, who is currently dating Romeo Beckham. Following her brief but memorable appearance at Annie's runway presentation, Tigerlily ventured across London to attend Topshop's John Lewis launch party at Piccadilly Lights. There, she mingled with other prominent figures such as pregnant television presenter Laura Whitmore, singer Louise Redknapp, and model Anais Gallagher.

For this second fashionable engagement, Tigerlily opted for a more modest ensemble, changing into a simple yet elegant black midi dress that demonstrated her versatile style approach.

Revealing Past Struggles with Modelling Industry Pressures

In a remarkably candid revelation, Tigerlily shared that her years in the modelling industry left her grappling with severe insecurities about her appearance. She began modelling as a teenager at approximately seventeen years old, but the industry's intense focus on physical aesthetics quickly eroded her self-esteem.

"I think that, more than anything, would be the thing that I found quite difficult - just with self-image, body image, being so hyper-critical of the way I look all the time, because that was the industry," Tigerlily confessed during an appearance on the Outspoken Beauty podcast. "That probably was the biggest struggle."

The model, who has fronted campaigns for lingerie brand Bluebella and worked with notable names like Urban Outfitters and Charlotte Simone, admitted she was unprepared for the industry's demanding standards. "I was young and naive and kind of didn't know what I was doing," she acknowledged. "I always struggled with confidence and identity. You wonder who you are a lot of the time when you're in that world."

Finding Confidence Through Entrepreneurship

Today, Tigerlily has channeled her fashion experience into entrepreneurship, founding Claws by Tiger Taylor, a luxury sustainable press-on nail brand. This creative venture has coincided with her journey toward self-acceptance and letting go of the insecurities that plagued her twenties.

"I think I was so concerned with the way I looked and so self-conscious and so insecure for, like, my whole life really," she reflected. "It's only when you stop caring so much that you realise how unhealthy it is - the negative self-talk and everything. When you look back you're like, 'How was I living like that?' I've only just started to figure out who I am."

While she continues to work within the fashion sphere, Tigerlily expressed gratitude that she never felt compelled to conform to the industry's punishing demands and unrealistic aesthetic requirements. "Luckily, I was never like a high fashion runway model. I'm five foot six and just not that vibe," she explained. "But I think it was more just being young… and not really knowing who I was."

Growing Up in the Shadow of Rock Royalty

As the daughter of Roger Taylor, the legendary 76-year-old drummer who has been with Queen since its formation in 1970, Tigerlily grew up surrounded by fame and musical royalty. Despite her father's global stardom, she maintains that she has managed to stay grounded throughout her life.

"I love him. He's probably, like, my favourite person. He's hilarious," Tigerlily said affectionately about her father. Her unconventional childhood, however, presented its own unique challenges. She attended the exclusive £55,000-a-year Bedales boarding school in Hampshire, where she shared a dormitory with supermodel Cara Delevingne.

"It was quite an interesting childhood, a bit chaotic probably," Tigerlily recalled. "Obviously that whole world is so normal to me, but it was definitely a lot of travelling around and probably not the average childhood."

She added thoughtfully: "There's definitely ups and downs to every situation, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've travelled to so many incredible places and I feel so privileged to have had those experiences. Me and my siblings - we're all, I think, far older than our age just because we've seen and done so much."

Family Dynamics and Sibling Connections

Tigerlily is one of Roger Taylor's five children from two previous relationships. From his first marriage to Dominique Beyrand in 1988, Roger shares his eldest son Felix, 45, and daughter Rory, 39. With his former long-term partner Debbie Leng, he has three children: Rufus, 34, who plays drums with The Darkness; Tigerlily, 31; and singer Lola, 25. Roger has been married to his current wife, actress Sarina Potgieter, since 2010, maintaining strong family connections across his blended household.

Tigerlily's appearance at London Fashion Week not only showcased her evolving personal style but also highlighted her journey toward self-acceptance in an industry known for its exacting standards. Her candid discussion about overcoming insecurities offers a refreshing perspective on the modelling world, while her famous family background adds an intriguing dimension to her personal narrative.
